  Great place with amazing customer centricity

  The main thing that stood out about the place was the exceptional service standards and customer centricity. we are a bunch of Indian travellers craving for home food and on request, They actually made four types of Indian dishes that we had recommended just for our group. So totally above and beyond what we expected.Kudos to the chefs and the Management on ground for bringing in this kind of attitudeThe rooms are neat and clean, slightly on the smaller side, but offer a great views because the property is located inside a vineyard.   Top points for Staff and Location

  An amazing location with superb views over the vineyards towards the Douro River. It was a tad confusing as to where the reception was. Once you enter the gates, it's an uphill drive all the way to the almost top. Ignore the first building half way, and keep following the cobbled road without turning left or right. We did not see any signs to help with orientation. The reception has a little temporary parking space opposite to it, but when it's full, then good luck with trying to figure out what to do next. Check-in is quick and friendly. Once you have your room, a staff member then escorts you, shows you around, also shows you where to best park your car. We had a standard twin room, apparently 27 square metres in size. In my opinion, no way! The room is much smaller. You open the door and you're almost on the bed. Maybe they've added the bit of terrace outside the room to the size calculation. Our room also had a dirty drain smell. It was also not soundproof. Even though we were on a busy path to the pool, the views from the room were amazing. Pool area fantastic, with a cocktail bar. Buffet evening restaurant food okay. Ten points go to the service staff in the restaurant. Welcoming. Attentive. Friendly. We were given a complementary glass of bubbly for our anniversary. Buffet breakfast varied and delicious. There are lovely walks through the vineyards around the hotel. A wine cellar with wine tastings is also on offer. An enjoyable stay with all round friendly staff and good food. The whole hotel area has lots of levels with steps and stairs all over, so for those with a walking disability, it might be an issue.   Beautiful views but soooo many stairs

  We had the pleasure of staying at the Vila Gale Douro Vineyards hotel. The views from everywhere on the site were absolutely stunning. The service was great and the rooms were clean. I appreciated having a separate toilet room also. I recommend opting in for the breakfast option. Although we don't usually do buffets, this breakfast spread was well worth the expense, especially since there were not any breakfast options nearby. Also, you should book dinner reservations in advance or ask the front desk for assistance with making dinner reservations for you. The dinner buffet was a bit of a letdown and not worth the price as the onsite restaurant was closed for a wedding during our stay. My only complaint is that there were A LOT of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, this is not the place for you to stay.   Non existing customer service, terrible management team

  Hotel made an overcharge with one of the rooms and unfortunately it took over 5 weeks and lots of telephone calls to pursue a refund. Very difficult to get through to someone and once we did, different excuse every time.How can something so simple take this long? It shows they don't care about customer satisfaction, a refund takes 5 seconds not 5 weeks.   Avoid unfortunately

  Don’t stay.Walls are paper thin and you hear people next door talking and snoring.(and more)Brand new resort and you can hear everything. Never had it so bad so avoid unfortunately.Location is great..breakfast average but the room and lack of sound proofing means it’s not a great experience.
