Location

Located beside the River Douro, this comfortable hotel lies at the heart of a winegrowing area in the north of Portugal. The centre of Pinhão is just 100 m away and it is some 130 km to the nearest airport.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in a 2-storey building with a lift and 43 non-smoking rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere.     We were in a junior suite. Shower leaking so that only towels catch the water on the floor. Staff inattentive, repeatably having to be called at the bar terrace. Door in the garden open all the time, so that every Tom, Dick and Harry can walk from the river thru the premises (even room corridors). Will go somewhere else next time, this has been the 3rd time and wow has this being going downwards. 400+ € per night…..Still has the location going for it but…..

    If you are sensitive to sound when you sleep bring earplugs. There are street dogs nearby that bark at night. The room temperature was stuffy and warm. We weren’t able to sleep with the door open at night for cooler air due to the loud barking dogs. The hotel is located on the river which is nice. The hotel charges 60 euros for a rollaway bed which is ridiculous. The bar and breakfast food were really good.

    Stunning hotel on the Douro River. Brings you back to the old world. Incredible comfortable beds and rooms with balconies over looking the river. Delicious breakfast and great service.

    The hotel rooms are nice but the furniture is slightly dated. Housekeeping keep the rooms very clean and well maintained. The views of the river and surrounding hills are a wonderful way to start the day. In a warmer time of year, it would be nice to sit outside. They have a delightful breakfast room and good buffet. The selection of items is good. Their scambled eggs are truly outstanding. Clearly made from scratch with fresh eggs. The pasty on the Portuguese tarts is fabulous. The staff provide excellent service. However, we did have mixed service at the bar. The bar food was very good.

    Fantastic hotel to celebrate NYE

    We experienced the Vintage Hotel like a large, very comfortable, vintage clubhouse with soft leather sofas, warm winter fires, well sized rooms with high ceilings, and good food. It has a superb location right on the banks of the Douro. Our bedroom had a lovely terrace. The hotel put on a fantastic NYE dinner, fireworks and party after midnight.
