The Rose of the Jeddah Corniche

    rating23 May 2026

If business travel brings you to Jeddah, strongly consider this superior choice located at the southern end of Jeddah's corniche. For visitors with meetings in central Jeddah, this is an especially convenient location. With an open atrium that extends from the ground level to just below vertigo-inducing pool on the hotel roof, the architecture is unique among hotels in Jeddah. Rooms are uniformly excellent, with the curved design of those facing the Red Sea giving the sense of viewing the coast from inside a ship. Hotel staff are knowledgeable, efficient and among the best you will find in Saudi Arabia, with an especially impressive front desk team and butler service. The gym and spa, located on the top floor, offers a shoreline view. The gym itself has more than sufficient cardio and resistance training equipment. The views from the top floor are a tourist destination unto itself. The hotel restaurant, in particular the breakfast service, is top notch. This five-star hotel earns its marks and is value-for-money in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Saudi Arabia's historic Jeddah.

    Worth the additional cost

    rating25 Apr 2026

I moved to the Rosewood after an unsatisfactory experience at the Four Points by Sheraton Corniche and the Rosewood was everything it needed to be.The staff were friendly and caring, treating me as an individual. The property is beautiful and I particularly appreciated the bathtub. As I had an early departure, I was only able to take advantage of breakfast one day, but it was really superb.Yes, the Rosewood is a little more expensive, but I would argue much better value for money.

Very good hotel but has some small pain points that keep it from being excellent

    rating15 Feb 2026

I had a beautiful suite with nice corniche and water views. I liked my suite but I found it annoying to have to control almost everything from the bedside such as the toilet light in the bathroom. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was weak. I needed a butler to explain everything to me because the room controls for things such as lights were confusing; the first night he was busy with another guest at midnight and i had to wait over 15 minutes. The next morning my wake up call was late because the operator was busy at the front desk. So they are a little tight on staffing here and that is a pain point. Also, the elevators to the top of the building (where the pool, gym and spa are) are not programmed well if you are on a guest room floor heading up. You have to go to one elevator to do that and that wastes time. You don't have the same problem coming down. The swimming pool is not heated and it's cold in there during the winter. The gym is decent and the Syrian trainer in residence is a cool friendly guy. The spa is good and open till 9 at night. The hotel has a buffet 3 meals a day (I ate all 3) and it's fine with a pasta station and a fish dish always available. They made nice pastries and I liked the food. At breakfast, I wasn't crazy about the buffet not having things I wanted such as smoked salmon, cream cheese, avocado. The new Four Seasons being built will surpass this property on all these counts so either they up their game or they will suffer from competition. The hotel couldn't take an American Express card at checkout even though they are part of the Amex FHR program. This place is a very good hotel but it is probably not being run to Rosewood standards and it needs a bit of work to reduce its pain points to guests.

Rosewood Jeddah Corniche - A Property That Should No Longer Be Operating

    rating18 Jan 2026

My stay at Rosewood Jeddah Corniche in January 2026 was profoundly disappointing and raises serious questions about how this property is still allowed to trade under the Rosewood name.Upon arrival, I was shown a sequence of rooms that were uniformly unacceptable. The first, overlooked broken straw roofing and visibly deteriorated structures. Subsequent rooms offered direct views of garbage areas, parking lots, and refuse zones, with no meaningful distinction between them. None met even a basic four-star standard, let alone a five-star luxury one.One room also had a persistent, unpleasant odor strongly reminiscent of stale cigarette smoke or chemical masking agents, despite being described as non-smoking.The handling of the situation was equally troubling. Management responses were dismissive and contradictory: I was told arrival time was an issue (irrelevant, given I had already been waiting over an hour), then that the hotel was “fully booked,” despite multiple rooms continuing to be shown. “Limited availability” was cited repeatedly, as though it justified offering rooms of demonstrably poor quality. The following morning, a discussion was attempted publicly at breakfast, rather than privately and proactively the day before - an emblematic example of misplaced priorities. The condition of the public areas was frankly shocking. The so-called pool area is something one would hesitate to put a toe into: no proper sunbeds, cleaning equipment left in full view, visible neglect, pigeons, and an overall sense of abandonment. The contrast between the hotel’s promotional imagery - displayed on its website, social media, and even in-house screens - and the reality is stark and misleading.Food and beverage standards were extremely poor. There was: • No service at the pool • No ability to order even a basic mocktail • Refusal to allow drinks to be brought from other parts of the hotel • No flexibility or guest-oriented problem-solvingOther guests independently expressed similar disappointment; one couple traveling with a small child described the food as inedible and noted that children are effectively discouraged from the pool area in the late afternoon due to loud music.Maintenance issues were evident throughout. In the room that I had finally chosen, the curtain rod came loose and fell when I attempted to draw the curtains - hardly acceptable at any level of hospitality.I was informed - by a source familiar with Rosewood operations, who asked not to be named - that the property is expected to be demolished. If this is indeed the case, it raises a serious question as to why the hotel continues to operate at all. Trading under a luxury brand while awaiting demolition is incompatible with the standards, transparency, and guest trust one associates with Rosewood. This review is written so future guests can make an informed decision - and so that the discrepancy between brand promise and operational reality is on record.

    Fantastic stay

    rating14 Jan 2026

We stayed for 7 nights in early Jan 2026. So pleased to have chosen this hotel. The breakfasts and dinners were exceptional. My room even though sea facing and of a higher grade, the bed faced a wall. Not that we spent all that much time in the room. The sea would have been much better view. The concierge and dining room staff went out of their way to make us feel really at home. The hotel has a warm feeling about it not like other 5 star hotels that are cold and uninviting. It is nicely situated but travel after 3:30 becomes a problem with heavy traffic in the vicinity. I can really recommend this hotel. A wonderful glimpse of Saudi Arabia
