Great Experience -- We'll be Back!

    rating29 Dec 2025

We stayed for two nights in early September. We had booked a junior suite, but the very friendly receptionist upgraded us to a one-bedroom suite which was a very pleasant surprise. The room was huge, with the bedroom and living room in separate rooms with their own A/C which worked well. Two full baths and a spacious entryway/closet completed the set-up. The bed was very comfortable. Although we did not have a balcony, the large wall-to-wall windows in both rooms could be fully opened and overlooked greenery and a walking path. It was quite a beautiful, quiet, peaceful setting. Just what we needed midway into a 6 week trip.We found the staff in every area of the hotel to be very friendly, welcoming and helpful, which set the tone for a wonderful experience. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about the staff and service. We felt so welcome and well taken care of. Bar staff in the lobby, reception, pool, dining room, gift shop, housekeeping -- all outstanding. The grounds were extensive, quite beautiful and offered great walks/hikes/trails in a relaxing environment. A stream runs through the park. There is a lovely exotic lotus pond on one corner of the park. The outdoor pool complex across the park was closed during our visit (September), but looked really nice. There is an outdoor sports complex through the woods with tennis, basketball and picnic areas. The outdoor pool connected to the spa area is small but really beautiful, one of the prettiest we've seen at Slovenian spas, with warm water and nice surroundings. It was nice to have an outdoor changing room, along with outdoor showers. The loungers were great, lots of umbrellas for shade. The indoor pool was small but very warm, with plenty of loungers. Whirlpools were adjacent in the room with glass walls for a nice view. Locker rooms were immaculate and very nice. Overall cleanliness throughout the hotel/spa was excellent. Nice spa robes and basic slippers came with our room and we enjoyed using them. The dining room was gorgeous. Windows overlooking the park and woods run the length of the room. Nice table settings. We loved sitting at the window tables, such a relaxing experience. The buffet was good for breakfast and dinner with lots of healthy and not-so-healthy choices for varied tastes. At dinner you can also order off of a menu with two entree choices, one meat/fish and one vegetarian. My favorite was a pumpkin curry. The staff busily serve everyone and are attentive. We were sad to be staying only two nights. We will definitely go back, next time for a full week of R&R. We really liked the focus on wellness here. It's off the beaten track and didn't feel touristy at all. It's a place to take a vacation from your vacation! Please note that some staff speak English, some don't. We did not notice any other native English speakers as guests, either. It wasn't a problem for us at all. Just be aware and prepare to adapt if necessary. You will feel welcome regardless of the language spoken. One other thing to note -- a number of Slovenian spas offer medical rehab and therapeutic facilities which overlap to varying degrees with/run parallel to the more touristy parts of the facilities. If that bothers you, please go elsewhere. We actually enjoy this unique aspect of the culture/experience and think it's great for people to be able to convalesce in such a nice environment.

    Good for older and couples

This is a place for a short rest, for one week. Easy to find with a large parking, reception with helpful ladies. Rooms are standard, clean. Beds can be larger. Nice bathrooms. Food is good even too abundant. Three menues, one for vegetarians for lunch and dinner, Meat or fish. Small terrace. Different covered and open swimming pools. Some are covered. Entertainment is little bit standard. Nice and simple walks around the area are interesting.

    Beautiful surroundings and blissful peace.

    rating29 Aug 2020

I spent a nice seven days with my family.Check in at the Hotel, quickly and professionally with all the information. The room is large and all in its place. Cleanliness impeccable.I think we were a little lucky because the weather was beautiful. Warm during the day and comfortable to sleep at night. We spent a lot of time walking, and wherever we go there are plenty of paths in the forest and lawns for walking. All pools were open, Hotel three and one outside - 100 meters from the Hotel. And finally the food at the Hotel. We had half board - breakfast and dinner.Breakfast was all self service, and dinner was salads and desserts self service, and the main course was served by the waiters. The choice was remarkable. The chefs did their best to satisfy everyone's taste.

Nice surrounding but lacking service for a ****S hotel

    rating16 Aug 2020

Well, well, well...so many expectations....but a bit deceiving. Globally, the whole place is fine : nice surroundings, quietness, large and clean swimming pool ans sauna facilities. In fact, service is lacking, especially if you consider Vitarium is a ****S hotel ! Rooms were ok, but barely different from adjacent **** hotel. But it is a complete disaster when is comes to food : noisy place, poor quality, buffet closing before expectied time, service is more than rude, it is inexistant. I could cope with it if the did not advertise the Vitarium as being a place where they "use local ingredients produced using certified organic or integrated methods". This is definitely not the way I felt...

    Relaxing stay

    rating13 Jan 2020

We stayed for 1 night at the hotel. The check in lady was very friendly & service was efficient. The room was a bit dated but pretty big, so was the bathroom. We had half board & dinner was ok. Salad & dessert were self-serviced & there were a few options for mains. We arrived pretty late & the restaurant was packed. The spa area was good & we joined the aqua aerobics class which was pretty good. We didn't know the complex was like a rehab facility until we talked to a few people at breakfast. We quite enjoyed our stay, will probably come back again.
