⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Exceptional Safari Stay at Hlosi, Amakhala Private Game Reserve

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Exceptional Safari Stay at Hlosi, Amakhala Private Game ReserveOur four-night stay at Hlosi was nothing short of anmazing and truly the highlight of our South African trip. Perfectly located close to Port Elizabeth and the Garden Route, it feels wonderfully accessible while still offering a completely immersive safari experience. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable — their passion for what they do shines through in every interaction , making the experience feel both personal and seamless from start to finish. We stayed in a luxury family tent, which was absolutely stunning. The accommodation combines comfort and elegance effortlessly, with breathtaking views over the bush. Highlights included the 180° wrap‑around veranda from , an outdoor a roll‑top bath overlooking the landscape & an outdoor ahower — pure relaxation. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and every amenity we needed was thoughtfully provided. We could hear jackals & lion by night & see warthog, giraffe and rhino regularly from our veranda by day. The lodge offers fantastic facilities for both adults and children. The pool overlooks a watering hole (a joy to watch animals wander by), and there’s a kids’ playroom and playground, a lovely bar area, and an excellent restaurant. We also loved the wide range of extra activities available, from star gazing to bird‑watching, night drives, to archery or a tempting spa menu. The game drives were outstanding. Lasting around three hours, they were unhurried, engaging, and expertly guided. Our guides (Chumi & Soni) generously shared their wealth of knowledge and went above and beyond to help us spot the animals we hoped to see. We were incredibly lucky to encounter a female cheetah and her cubs, which absolutely made my husband’s day — cheetahs are his favourite animal, so this moment was truly unforgettable.Hlosi strikes the perfect balance between luxury, authenticity, and adventure. We left feeling relaxed, inspired, and deeply grateful for such a special experience. We cannot recommend this lodge highly enough and would return without hesitation.

Amazing lodge right at the heart of the Amakhala game reserve. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are made to feel very welcome and special in this beautiful location. The team here are excellent - friendly, warm, and delivering the highest levels of service. Special mention to Oli and Elvis. BBQ night and amazing singing and dancing from the team were a particular highlight. Game drives were brilliant - Tim was an excellent ranger and we saw everything we could hope to see. Highly recommend. Lion Roars, Owner at Hlosi Game Lodge, responded to this review Hi there. Wow — thank you so much for this wonderful review! Food and accommodation very good and staff ever so helpful and friendly. We may well come back a third time.We would prefer softer, smoother bedlinen next time.
