    Our BA flight to London was cancelled and a hoard of people bombarded the Birchwood Reception desk just before midnight. Eyes bloodshot from crying and worrying if we could get back to our loved ones over the Easter weekend.We were all greeted by the warmest, most efficient humans I have EVER encountered.I cannot express how comfortable and welcomed I felt from the moment I stepped foot into this fine establishment. Every single staff member I had the pleasure of interacting with was nothing but friendly and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend Birchwood purely based on the way you are treated. I have never seen so many smiles in one place.The facilities are also top notch by the way. Clean and peaceful and quiet rooms fully stocked with the necessities. Beautiful premises.I wish I could stay here forever! I love you Birchwood x

    It is a good place to stay,Calm and silent. The location is very convenient if you’re using O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) they have well-organized shuttle service.     Sleepless Night at Hotel – No Intervention Despite Multiple Complaints

    I stayed at this hotel last night and unfortunately had one of the most terrible experiences I've ever encountered.A workers' union group was also accommodated at the hotel and began a loud gathering around 8:30 PM. The group played loud music and engaged in shouting and loud conversations, and our room was situated right in the middle of the disturbance.Despite calling reception at least five times to report the issue, nothing was done to resolve the situation. In fact, the noise escalated significantly. The group began singing and chanting freedom songs, screaming, and stampeding through the hallways near our room. It became not only disruptive but also frightening and deeply disrespectful to other guests.This continued until around 3:00 AM, making it impossible for us to get a proper night’s rest. We had an important conference to attend the following day and were completely exhausted due to the lack of sleep.This experience was completely unacceptable, and I strongly urge hotel management to reconsider how they manage large group bookings and maintain a respectful environment for all guests.
