The hotel is strategically located on Church Street in a quiet residential area near the central business district, foreign embassies, reserve banks and ministries. It benefits from a close proximity to major landmarks and an unspoilt view of the famous Union Buildings. The hotel is ideally located in the capital city of South Africa, which is only 45 minutes away from Johannesburg and OR Tambo International Airport (approximately 50 km).

Facility

The hotel has 4 junior suites, 7 suites and 164 double rooms, which are located on 7 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the hotel include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Parking facilities available to guests include a garage (for a fee) and a car park (for a fee). Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested.     An old gem in need of some TLC

    This is by no means a 5-star hotel but the price I paid was cheap so I kept my expectations low.I spent three nights in a suite facing the union buildings, the room itself was huge and had all the amenities I needed for my stay. The room decor and furniture are ancient but well-maintained and clean (that counts!). I prefer these old-school gems rather than the fancy newer "plastic" hotels.All staff I engaged with were friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help out. The restaurant was basic for breakfast with subpar food quality. The coffee was from cheap machines that dispensed powered milk with instant coffee. Dinner was much better although not all items on the menu could be ordered. The club lounge is a joke compared to other Sheraton's (in terms of food and beverage offerings) but was adequate to work in.The gym is one area that should be shut down, equipment falling apart and air-conditioning not working.     Good Hotel , But unsafe location.

    I stayed there with a large rugby party. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were good , maybe a little dated. The food was Ok , the pool area was good.But when a guide tells you its not safe to leave the hotel grounds , its worrying.I have no issues with the hotel , all the helpful staff who treated this big group very well. I am sure in all cities around the world, especially where there is tourist attractions, criminal elements are found.     Unprofessional - overbooking and not proactive.

    Hotel was overbooked, they knew it but waited for me to show up at midnight to let me know and kick me out. Then, they sent me to the wrong hotel.While overbooking is understandable, the non-proactive approach is not acceptable at all.The staff I had to deal with was pro and doing her best, but this should not have happened in the 1st place.     This hotel is an old favourite of my family, but given our experience in August, we are absolutely sure that the hotel management has given up on this hotel. One wants to leave the world's annoyances behind when one books into the hotel. Unfortunately, we were not afforded this opportunity at this hotel: Carpets, bathroom basin, and desk & bedside tables were dirty. The television was not even tuned. Despite booking our room, it wasn't ready on time, and there was no apology, just a shrug and a dismissive "not sure why it's not ready." And the food…blah! And then there was this awful smell in the parking garage. I will not recommend this hotel unless they employ a new hotel manager who will ensure that it is ran like a four star hotel rather then a minus one star hotel. Let this establishment gain its former glory, please!
