    My wife and me stayed at Holiday Inn Johannsberg Sunnyside Park from 25th to 27th November, 2025.I had late night flight and an airport drop at 7pm.On 26th November afternoon I requested for a late check out till 2pm on the next day. The lady at the counter told me that she could arrange a late check out upto 1 pm but beyond that I needed to pay. If payment could get me a late check out that means I was denied my benefit as an IHG member inspite of room availability. I missed to note her name but she was on duty on 26th November afternoon.Hoping for better luck, I again approached the front desk in the evening with a request for late check out on 27th November. Mr. Nolo at the Reception told me that I would have to check out by 11 am. I thought that normal check out was 11 am but with sarcastic glee he informed me that normal check out is 10 am. His attitude was brash and he was downright rude. He is by far the most ill-behaved front desk person I have encountered in a ihg hotel in the last 15 years.I wonder if there is a policy in place for late check-out or it is driven by the whims and fancies of the individual at the Front Desk.While the above has been a forgettable experience I must compliment Athalia at the front desk for her politeness, warmth and empathy. The bell staff and room service staff were courteous and very warm. I think some of your front desk employees have a lot to learn from the bell staff.     Apparently 4 star and may have been once upon a time. Located in a very unsafe area so no local options for dining. The restaurant served very average food. Service average. Poorly maintained plumbing is very noisy. The hotel advised checking with reception before answering the door!Tranquil grounds.

    Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience at this hotel. We were on a long trip through Africa. We were supposed to stay at this same hotel twice. The first time was from September 17th to 18th. And the second time was from September 23rd to 25th. On the 18th, I left my jacket on the bed. I called and emailed them on the SAME day, and they still informed us that the jacket was missing. They asked us to wait until the 23rd, when we were supposed to return, and NOTHING. The jacket disappeared. Even though I notified them practically at the same time I left it in the room. I don't recommend it to anyone.

    The property’s scenery is relaxing and beautiful, and the neighborhood is quiet, making the hotel a great place to stay. The rooms are spotless and the beds are very comfortable. IHG membership is recognized, and the staff were pleasant and helpful.
