In rustic serenity, the hotel lies nestled at the foothills of the Swartkop Mountains, on the threshold to the beautiful Kromdraai Valley, a World Heritage Site known as The Cradle of Humankind, where scientists are investigating the origins of man. The train station is approximately a 45-minute drive from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has a lift and features 213 rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities available at the hotel include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a playroom. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car. Plenty of active recreation awaits guests in the pool area's 2 outdoorpools. No matter the weather, swimming is always a possible in the indoor pool. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent.     This property is situated at the gateway to muldersdrift, set in a spectacular botanical garden, you will be living under the forest canopy , surrounded by lush green vegetation. The staff are genuine and friendly. Minor maintenance issues - but nothing that won’t keep me from coming back .     As a birthday present to myself, I couldn't have picked a better place for peace and tranquility. From making my reservation, arriving and being greeted by friendly security personnel, warm reception team, relaxing spa treatment, experiencing Carnivore....finally!!!Quad biking as well, listening to birds chirping outside my room.Absolutely lovely.     Some staff members, especially in the reception were not friendly they don't even look up to greet you. The service of the staff for food service was absolutely terrible, they take long to serve you and the food was either not cooked well, or had no flavour.     The accommodation, food, staff and service are excellent. Having said that it is the worst designed hotel complex I have ever seen. Reception, dining, gin bar, accommodation are all in different locations widely spread throughout the complex. As an elderly person it was an exhausting experience walking between them. The boards indicating where everyting is are nowhere near comprehensive enough leading to constant and exhausting mis-direction, invariably requirin a visit back tp reception for guidance. It was a bloody nightmare.
