    Odd experience. Daughters will most probably never return.

    We had two rooms, one for us and one for our kids. Our daughters (20 and 21) had a problem with their door/key system. A repairman came after breakfast, to fix the lock. This happened while the girls were having their showers and getting dressed. It was unpleasant and they were upset with the invasion of their privacy.We thought it to be very unprofessional and really odd.The ride to and from the casino area is great.The front desk staff are wonderful.     Good hotel just outside the city centre

    This was our first visit the the Pivot since its rebrand from Southern Sun to Togo Sun.The Southern Sun was one of our regular place to stay at Montecasino.Little has changed in terms of the hotel rooms, which are still good. All the amenities one needs, comfortable beds and always clean. Staff are friendly, but did not engage in the way the old staff used to.Breakfasts are still excellent with a superior choice from fruits, yogurts, pastries, muffins etc. for those who prefer a cold breakfast. The choice for a hot breakfast is still one of the best ranges we have encountered on our travels.We also ate at the Terrace Bar, again the delicious fare is still as good as ever. If there was one thing we did miss, was the little bowl of snacks we used to have with our drinks on the terrace. They were always nice to have while sipping a G&T.Would still recommend this hotel if you are thinking of staying in the Jo'burg area or visiting Montecasino for a weekend.     Pivot Hotel at Montecasino – A Disappointing Decline

    I have stayed at this hotel in the past, back when it operated as a Southern Sun property, and the contrast with my recent stay could not be more striking.Previously, under Southern Sun — and with leadership that was visible and genuinely engaged — the hotel stood out for its customer service. The General Manager at the time, Linda, and her team clearly prioritised building relationships with guests, creating an experience that made you want to return.Sadly, that spirit is no longer present.While the front-line staff generally do their best and remain polite, there is a noticeable absence of management presence. There is no visible effort to engage with guests or create lasting connections, and the overall impression is that guest experience is no longer a priority.The hotel itself feels tired:Rooms show clear signs of wearThe gym is outdated, with broken or unusable equipmentBreakfast is pleasant, but not enough to compensate for the wider issuesMore concerning is the low morale that seems evident among some staff members. The atmosphere lacks energy and warmth, giving the sense that motivation and pride in the workplace are missing.Overall, this stay was a significant disappointment compared to past experiences. Based on this visit, I will ensure that my company does not place future business at this particular hotel at Montecasino.A hotel with such a strong history could do much better — but meaningful improvement would require visible leadership, reinvestment, and a renewed focus on genuine hospitality.     Check-in took too long and staff were unfriendly. There was a notice in the room advising that we should have an early breakfast to avoid a waiting period of 45 min. We went for breakfast earlier than normal and there were only a few tables occupied. Still the service was slow and unfriendly. We mentioned this during check-out and were advised that the manager will contact us to discuss, which never happened.     A great hotel for staying at Montecasino - Fourways

    A great hotel to stay in at Montecasino / Fourways. A short walk to a myriad of restaurants and the Piazza at Montecasino. Easy access to Fourways, Sandton, Steyn City and the motorway to the airport.Breakfast is very good, the rooms are comfortable and I prefer this hotel to the others like the Palazzo.Staff are very good and it is very safe.
