Location

This hotel enjoys a location which is perfect for time-conscious local and international business travellers. It lies just 35 minutes from Sandton and Pretoria and is set right in the heart of Kempton Park. Guests can take advantage of a complimentary shuttle service to and from O.R. Facility

213 rooms, including suites, 101 single rooms and 107 double rooms, are located on 5 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a newspaper stand and a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (no extra charge) or in the car park. Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In some rooms, a terrace is included as standard. Rooms have a double bed or a king-size bed.     Protea Hotel JNB Airport was built in 2009, renovated in 2024, and offers 213 rooms over 5 floors, fitness centre, outdoor pool, meeting rooms, and 24-hour airport shuttle. Even-numbered rooms face away from the runways into the quiet residential area.. Furnishings and decoration provide a business atmosphere. Service is friendly. We found room 531 suffering from noise from the airfield and moved to room 512, which was larger and more quiet. Our room had desk & chair, tea facility & fridge, and a good kingsize bed. Window can open in safety mode. We had an open bathroom with washbasin, bath & shower, and a separate toilet. All was clean. There is a good buffet breakfast: eggs made to order, cold cuts & cheeses, breads & toast, cereals & fruits, milk & yoghurts, juices & preserves, rolls & croissants, tea & coffee.     Would not recommend this hotel at all. Some sort of industrial/ aeronautical theme going on, not our vibe at all. The room was cramped, smelly and noisy so didn't sleep well.     Nice clean rooms which were reasonably quiet given this is an airport hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Had a great nights sleep after some lengthy travel.     A nice and convenient place to stay - great staff

    My wife and I stayed here for two separate visits during our trip to Africa in March 2026.The hotel is very convenient to JNB airport, and the free shuttle service to and from the airport works very well. The pool area and the grounds are very nice, though you do get some noise from the airport which is just across the highway. This was not a problem in the rooms though.We enjoyed the restaurant and bar and we found the food, drinks and service from the staff to be very friendly and attentive. The front desk were great also - always helpful and they recognized our Marriott status - giving us a (free) early check-in following our flight from Tanzania which arrived early in the morning for our final stay.
