I stayed at the Hyde Park Southern Sun for one night during a business trip. It was easy to find the access to the undercover parking. Upon my arrival a member of the staff was immediately available and placed my luggage on a trolley. Check in went smoothly. I enjoyed the views over JHB in the glass lift. I stayed on the third floor in room 341. The rooms are spacious with perfect lighting. The room was clean and included a coffee station, many two and three point plug points and a nice large hairdryer.I noticed when I was looking for a news channel that the hotel provides a large number of channels on the television network. The bathrooms are excellent. A large shower and bath are included and the shower have a rain shower head and a normal shower head. The toilet is in the bathroom.I was able to visit Hyde Park shopping centre by following a short passage running between the hotel and the shopping mall. It was super safe and convenient. Most of the shops were closed after 6pm but I was able to buy a cooldrink for the next day since both supermarkets were still open. There are lovely restaurants in the centre and high-end shops.I decided to order room service. It was easy to place an order and it arrived in good time. The salad was fresh and I enjoyed my meal.The bed was comfortable. Good quality bedding.I had breakfast at the hotel and in my opinion the cappuccino was excellent. Eggs are made to order. The breakfast included some nice touches. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet at 6:40am.Prissi Naidoo, the Rooms Division Manager, assisted me during my check-out. She was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel clearly wants to ensure guests return again and again since she asked me for feedback following my stay. Coffee machine available at reception, free coffee 🤩. Easy access to the mall from parking. Cons:No luggage racks to place suitcase on, no robes. The Hyde Park Hotel is a fantastic, world-class hotel - backed by an incredible team who are warm & friendly. I have to compliment the entire hotel team - from the moment you arrive, to the reception team, porters, security, restaurant and housekeeping teams. My room was beautiful, clean, comfortable & well-appointed. The hotel is extremely conveniently located, has safe & secure parking, and is connected to the Hyde Park Shopping Center for everything you need. Best Hotel Stay at a Southern Sun Hotel!

From the minute we parked the car in the front of the hotel, my door was opened for me and I was warmly welcomed by the gentleman at the door. The staff at the front desk are so warm and welcoming! The room was amazing! Very Spacious and cleanliness is on point! We asked that the heater be turned on for us before arrival and that request was met so kindly! It’s so quiet and quality of our sleep was amazing! The bed is huge and comfortable too. Breakfast has a wide variety and was quite tasty! I love the views at the breakfast floor too. The gorgeous chef that made out omelettes was such a sweetheart, I just didn’t get her name. I love the pancake machine! All staff members I encountered at Hyde Park were such a joy to be around. I will be booking at Souther Sun Hyde Park for all my Joburg trips. The service at this hotel is top tier! Very convenient to the shopping mall and the rest of Johannesburg. Staff were friendly, WiFi was erratic but the beds were comfortable. Plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
