  Not what I expected. I have stayed at other "express" hotels before. But this was something else. Firstly when I booked I stated late check in. When we arrived we were hungry, only to be told they don't have a kitchen for lunch or dinner only breakfast. Ok, so we got chocolate from the vending machine. The next morning we arrive at breakfast and what a huge disappointment- no even a breakfast buffet. No variety and they DO NOT cater halal. If you eat halal you have to be content with scrambled eggs and toast. Then we get to the rooms. Pluto's very outdated, not even USB chargers I the wall. I couldn't charge my phone as I didn't bring an adaptor as I'm used to hotels having uses, no fridge to keep our water cold. The bottom point of the door had a piece of metal protruding so when my husband opened the door the protruding piece cut a deep cut in gas tow. I wasn't very impressed with the service either. You need to do better. And cater for all dietary requirements. Like I said I stayed at many hotels and some are cheaper with much better breakfast variety and room features.

  It's a wonderful place with lovely people, they are very welcoming and polite. Clean and fresh rooms everytime I went there. They have a delicious breakfast and all kinds of fruit,dairy even American style breakfast. They are close to the mall and quiet are It's q plus for those who are not familiar with the area.

  Unfortunately this time my experience was very very bad starting from the phone call(around 19:00) to the hotel trying to book a room with receptionist PALESA unprofessional and rude...told me don't need to book a room(she never asked for any my own information as membership number) I should just walk in and I asked what if I walk in and it's fully booked due the black friday weekend and she answered that not gonna happen...then after hour we went to the hotel to check in and at the desk PALESA told us unfortunately the hotel it's currently fully booked for the night 😔 then I felt disappointed and I told it can't be cuz Ober the phone she told me I can just walk in and after I told her I did called before walk in then she said "Why you didn't told me that on begin?" and I told I'm not to supposed said anything since you said just walk in and she never booked the room over our phone call and she did tried to make me feel blamed on her on fault cuz she supposed to proceed with booking on my phone call that's why I called then she tried to disagree with me making feel guilty and I just told her "You must said sorry" cuz it's your fault not mine,I did called in advance to book the room to make sure my accomodation it's guaranteed after long road trip and after that she had plan and give us room 531 with 2 single beds while we want the double bed but it's ok was better then nothing and besides that on the phone call I asked for membership price and she said R909 B&B then she charged R1009 then I told her again I'm old member I'm black card member and the price for member is R909 and rudely she took the form throwing away and made new form with membership discount but besides the very bad experience with the receptionist... everything was good the room was clean and neat(still no smart TV/no streaming service as Netflix and etc) old TV with very limited and bad quality pictures.The shower 🚿 is amazing very good water pressure,clean and neat.Breakfast 🍳🥞 top.Check out process was professional, friendly and fast service.Regards Noel A Macquet, General Manager at Stayeasy Eastgate, responded to this review Dear zezer2015, we thank you for taking the time to complete a Review on Tripadvisor, following your recent stay at the Stayeasy Eastgate Hotel.   Affordable & Comfortable

  We arrived in Johannesburg around 6:30pm for JKA Karate SA championship. Hotel was extremely busy & noisy on arrival . Reception staff were very friendly & helpful . Very affordable rates for a 3 night stay . Close to Eastgate Shopping centre ( won’t recommend to walk there at night ) & Elliss Park Stadium . Rooms are small but comfortable. For a family off 4 is abit cramped. Breakfast very basic but will fill your stomach . Highly recommended for an affordable , comfortable stay .
