    The reception and the staff are wonderful. The breakfast is also great considering that it is part of the accomodation costs. This is a no frills hotel in the middle of a very vibrant part of the city. The noise levels are high during the night due to the surrounding area. Very close to the hop on hop off bus stop. If you are a tourist, you could consider this. I loved my stay at the Bannister.     I stayed in a hotel for 10 days. During my stay, there was a wifi cut-off which happened without prior notification to clients. This caused a lot of inconveniences as I booked the hotel to attend classes at Wits University, therefore, I was depending entirely on the wifi to do my schoolwork. This means that on the two days, I failed to do my school work properly.

    The rooms are very small and they are not value for money, there were cockroaches running around at night, the room has no air conditioning so it was very hot, the shower curtains are short so after bathing water was running from the bathroom to the room. The place is noisy and overall experience was terrible.

    Overall good staff, friendly and helpful. Being a weekend stay, we could not sleep well due to the local weekend celebration. Would request for electric kettle in the room for preparation of tea or coffee.     Perfect reception indeed, respect and privacy for guests, and room service excellent. Though deep in city center and has a nightclub, the hotel security is best.
