  Worse dessert presentation which superseded the lovely carbonara I had few seconds earlier.   I had an excellent stay at City Lodge. The room was comfortable and well-appointed, providing everything I needed for a relaxing visit. The food was absolutely great—delicious and satisfying! The staff were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I highly recommend City Lodge for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.   Good, affordable and central accommodation in Durban.

  Although Durban CBD has gone to the dogs, this little isolated oasis is lovely to stay at. The rooms and bedding was clean, the staff was very helpful and accommodating, the food was good, and the pool was clean and nice to use in the Durban heat and humidity. It is close to the people mover buses. After our boat cruise we were quite sick, and since the lodge had lots of open rooms at that time, they let us book in a lot earlier than usual was really appreciated. The sleeper couch was a bit hard, but that was the only thing we could fault. it was also very affordable for December holidays. Our personal experience there was really good. 9/10.   Great place to stay but give me complementary water in my room

  Well located, very affordable, great place to stay. However, there was no complementary drinking water provided in the rooms.We had also asked for an airport shuttle service but the email apparently went missing. A taxi was booked for us and we had to pay for it. Brenda Botha, General Manager at City Lodge Hotel Durban, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. While we do not supply bottled water in our guest rooms in a bid to reduce single use plastic, we do offer free access to the Hydration Station near reception, which dispenses filtered, magnesium-enriched, chilled and room temperature, still and sparkling water. We will ensure our reception team communicates this more effectively at check-in. Unfortunately, we don’t offer complimentary shuttle this hotel, but our helpful, I do however apologize for your email that wasn't actioned, this will be taken up with the team. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to welcome you back and demonstrate our commitment to improved service.
