Location

Facility

The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Film fans will find plenty of 'lights, camera, action' at the cinema. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car (no extra charge). Other services include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with central heating and a fan. Guests are sure to get a good night's sleep in the double bed. Extra beds can be requested. Sport

The hostel offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, crazy golf, golf, fishing and horse riding. With windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, bowling, squash and aerobics. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café and a bar. A continental breakfast guarantees a great start to the day.

    TownI checked in on 23 May. On 24 May, I requested a clean towel at reception. The gentleman at the desk questioned why I hadn’t dried the towel myself, despite me explaining that I had already used it four times and it was dirty. Instead of assisting, he became upset, threw a tantrum, and outright refused to provide a towel. I made it clear that I wasn’t there to argue — I simply needed a clean towel, which is a basic expectation at any accommodation. His dismissive attitude (“that’s not my problem”) was unprofessional and left me feeling unwelcome. I didn't not shower that Saturday night because of this unprofessional disrespectful person behind the counter, he could have had a more decent approach. A person with this kind attitude should never work in a service industry. A guest should never be denied such a simple request, nor made to feel guilty for asking. This interaction reflects poorly on Sunflower Backpacker’s service standards, and I hope management addresses this issue to ensure future guests are treated with respect.

    Sunflower stop backpackers hostel was an excellent overnight accomodation staff very capful and friendly. Rooms very clean. Place was quiet. All travelers respectful and friendly

    Friendly and warm stay at Sunflower Stop Backpackers

    This is one of the few true backpackers hostel in Cape Town and in a prime location. Sidney, Sim and Augusto were super friendly and welcoming, they make you feel right at home. When I came back to Cape Town towards the end of my trip, I couldn't think of anywhere else to go, and went straight back to Sunflower Stop and felt right back at home, just the feeling i was looking for. There are some people employed to keep the rooms clean and they do a fantastic job. It wouldn't hurt to tip them a little, although they would never ask. All in all, had an amazing time and would highly recommend this place to backpackers around the world.

    Ashley and the team are all that.Staff make a point to go over and beyond to create a home away from home for every guest.The Kitchen, commen lounge, bar, swimming pool and outside area are all AMAZING.Location is central and everything cape town has to offer is at your finger tips.
