Location

This hotel is located on the pristine Arabella Country Estate, right by an 18-hole golf course. It is located close to the largest and prettiest natural lagoons in South Africa. Within a short drive, guests will arrive at the famous whale haven Hermanus, the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town, the southern most tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas, the Cape wine route and the renowned Blaauwklippen wine estate. Roughly 8 km away, guests will find various shopping opportunities, a beach and the ocean. Cape Town International airport is located around 70 km away.

Facility

26 junior suites, 2 suites and 117 double rooms are located on 5 storeys and can be reached by lift. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities available at the resort include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. Complimentary newspapers are available. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and individually adjustable heating. Guests can relax on the balcony or terrace. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Children's beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A turndown service provides guests with additional comfort in the evening hours. Amenities provided in the rooms include slippers and a daily paper. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and bathrobes are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Wheelchair-friendly rooms can be booked. The resort has family rooms and 145 non-smoking rooms.

Sport

Guests can work out or just relax in the outdoor and indoor pools. Kids can splash about in a special swimming area just for them. Guests can treat themselves to refreshing drinks at the poolside snack bar and a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of activities such as tennis, volleyball, crazy golf, golf, archery, fishing and horse riding or, for a fee, cycling/mountain biking, are offered at the resort. With canoeing and snorkelling available, the resort also caters to water sports enthusiasts. Sport and leisure facilities at the resort include a gym, yoga and aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna, a steam bath, a beauty salon, hydrotherapy treatments and a solarium. Subject to charge: massage treatments. An entertainment programme and a kids' club round out the entertainment options.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a breakfast room and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch and dinner, guests can choose between a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. In addition, special catering options and picnics are available. The resort offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    We had a wonderful experience as a family. The food was enjoyable, the service provided by our waiter was exceptional, and the scenery created a very pleasant atmosphere.There did appear to be a communication breakdown regarding our reservation. Although our booking was on the system, it had not been allocated to the correct venue/table as specified in the email correspondence. Three staff members approached us regarding the matter before someone eventually took the initiative to seat us.Upon arriving at our table, it was still being prepared. Tables were being moved and cutlery rearranged while we stood waiting, with one staff member handling the setup on her own. My mother-in-law even assisted by clearing part of the table to help the staff member complete the preparations.That said, this did not detract significantly from our overall experience. The quality of the food, service, and setting more than made up for the inconvenience. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly be returning.

    I have just come back from a long weekend at the Arabella. Which we have been coming to for years as a quick getaway which isn't too far out of cpt. Sadly this hotel is crying for help. The decor is out dated. Some staff who cleans your rooms are unfriendly and the hotel food was unwhelming. Especially for those prices. Let's start with the decor for the past 20 years even the chandeliers in lobby was never changed. The art work is old and out dated. The seating either needs to cleaned or changed.The reception area carpet was even worse. The cupboards were broken and carpets were actually black and were never cleaned. The rooms carpets as well as the wall way carpets looked like they needed a good clean.Sausage at the breakfast was terrible and the pastries where never freshly baked.Supper lacked flavor. A simple pepper sauce with your steak tasted like the bottom of a gravy pot. Pizzas were even worse.Also perhaps add in lighter meals to the supper menu as well. As not everyone wants a heavy meal at night.Arabella I sincerely hope that with your new GM you can be steered in the right direction. And that you can be uplifted again to your once glorious self again.     Excellent Stay at Arabella - Thanks Patrick

    Arrived early Monday as my partner was playing golf about 11.20am. Met by Patrick at the reception desk who personally ensured I was checked in and upgraded by 10am to a lagoon view room. This meant I had somewhere to go and change whilst my partner went off to golf. The hotel has super spa facilities, indoor hydro pool with sauna and steam room and a massive outdoor pool. We enjoyed dinner in the hotel and a super breakfast the next morning. We will be back to Arabella again, the golf was superb too. Thanks again Patrick for making our stay so comfortable.     Was unable to book a round of golf prior to our stay as phone calls and emails went unanswered by pro shop. After check in tried to book a round and was informed that time.esheet was full. They could only offer us 9 holes at 4pm. Hotel itself is dated, service at breakfast was poor,appeared to be understaffed.
