The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. Some rooms include a balcony. The rooms have a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe provides secure storage for guests' personal property. Guests will also find a refrigerator included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A TV and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and bathrobes are available in the bathrooms, which are equipped with a shower. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The saltwater pools (in part heated) of the outdoor pool area make for soothing swimming. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including cycling/mountain biking, horse riding, a beauty salon, massage treatments and hiking.

Meals

The dining area includes a restaurant and a bar. A fortifying breakfast is served daily. Diet meals and children's meals can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    Why would you stay anywhere else in Franschhoek, a 10 out of 5.

    Before writing our review, if you are going to South Africa " a very lovely safe place", look into driving the garden route, our first stop is Franschhoek.Ashbourne Guest House is located at the beginning of the main street but one block back if coming from Cape town.We stayed in the Tree tops room or the loft, a very spacious room with a king bed large siting room small entry balcony and alternate window view, the bathroom is nice & very large shower & heated floors, a good size small fridge & tv with very good reception & channel choices.The staff very friendly & helpful,Lovely breakfast with a choice of several cooked meals.You are greeted with a glass of wine or spirit or something soft.Cakes, water, juice chocolates, jelly beans, fruit & spirits & available all day.A sensational friendly town and guest house.Would highly recommend

    Great Guest House with superior staff

    This is a beautiful Guest House with an amazing staff. We stayed for two nights and the house is very pretty, clean, perfectly located to town and the staff will do anything they can to make sure your stay is outstanding. They treat you better than family (!) and do whatever that can to make your stay perfect. The breakfast is excellent, the grounds are beautiful.We stayed during a horrible weather system and still had a great visit. The entire town was without power unless they had a generator. Courtney and the staff made sure we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable. Our first day was rainy but we were able to still enjoy ourselves. The next day we were able to do the wine tram which was great fun. The house is located within a 5 minute walk to the tram station, town and one of the wineries. Our driver picked us up very early the next morning and the staff provided a wonderful breakfast for us to take along. For what could have been a bad experience due strictly to the weather was a wonderful experience due to the staff at Ashbourne.

    What a fabulous place to stay during our three nights travelling on the garden route Lovely welcome super big room - fab breakfast, dining area - and an outside pool. Location was great to walk to the main street in Franschhoek - Staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay

    We recently had the pleasure of staying at Ashbourne house , and I can't express enough how wonderful our experience was! The service we received was truly exceptional; the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our family felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay.The personal touch in every aspect of the hotel made our time there feel special. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful interiors that added to the overall charm of the place. It was a perfect setting for our family gathering.We also wanted to extend our thoughts to the team at Auberg regarding the wildfires. We sincerely hope that conditions have improved and that you and the surrounding community are safe.Thank you for such a memorable stay
