The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing.     Our stay at Blackwaters River Lodge was truly special. From the moment we arrived in Knysna, everything slowed down — the peaceful river, the quiet surroundings, and that feeling of just being able to breathe again.It’s more than just a beautiful place to stay — it’s a feeling. We loved every minute, and leaving was harder than expected. We’ll definitely be back.

    What an unforgettable experience.This property is truly breathtaking in every sense. The rooms are immaculate—clean, beautifully designed, and luxuriously appointed—with incredible views that make every moment feel special.The lodge’s eco-friendly approach is thoughtfully and seamlessly executed, adding to the overall charm and authenticity of the stay. The restaurant serves absolutely delicious food, and the addition of Escape Wines’ tasting room at the resort creates a well-rounded and memorable getaway.We attended the wine pairing evening, which was nothing short of spectacular.There is an abundance of activities on offer, including fishing, golf, bird watching, wine tastings and pairings, canoeing, hiking, and relaxing by the pool—truly something for everyone.Elmay and her team are dedicated to creating a unique and memorable experience, and they have certainly succeeded. Our weekend away as a couple was everything we hoped for and more.Thank you to the entire team.

    A group of us spent a weekend celebrating a birthday. Blackwaters is very peaceful and idyllic. Rooms had beautiful views, with morning calls of the fish eagle. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff responded immediately to any special requests. One of the highlights was a canoe trip on the river by moonlight. Our young guide, Luke, was careful, caring and ensured that we all had a breathtaking experience.

    We had a wonderful time. It was my mother-in-laws birthday celebration. We booked in for the weekend as a family. The nighttime canoe trip down the river with Luke was our highlight and the fireside hot chocolate and marshmallow rounded the evening off to perfection 👌. Madelein at reception is so helpful and kind with all the ages we had in our group. We will certainly be back! Rooms exquisitely clean and well equipped!
