Location

Nestled between the vibrant Atlantic Seaboard and Table Mountain, the city hotel is ideally situated opposite Cape Town's International Convention Centre, minutes away from the famous V and A Waterfront and all main tourist attractions. Furthermore, the hotel is suitably positioned about 20 km from Cape Town International Airport and within walking distance of all major offices and shopping centres.

Facility

The hotel has 170 rooms and 10 suites, which are located on 12 storeys and are reachable by lift. Check-in and check-out are possible at any time at the reception desk. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (for a fee) or in the car park.     There were so many cockroaches bybthe time we turned off the lights. The bathroom our bed and even in the fridge.

    The restuarant does get very noisy at breakfast and dinner time but i m not sure how thhiks can be resolved.

    It's like coming home every time I stay at the Capetonian. It's my home away from home. With the friendly staff and great location, best place to stay in Cape Town.

    The service i received was superb and the food selection as great. However, the carpert in the room i was need to be changed as it was stained. I believe that the renovations in progress is going to address that. Overally, the hotel offers value for money.

    Upon arrival at reception, we were disappointed with the overall experience. I'm not sure whether the staff on duty were part of a training team, but there appeared to be a lack of professionalism and customer engagement. The young lady who assisted us did not make eye contact during our interaction and was not presented in a manner that reflected a front-of-house reception role.I understand that this is not a five-star hotel; however, excellent service and professional staff presentation should be a standard regardless of star grading.We were accommodated in Room 602, and unfortunately, the mattress is in urgent need of replacement. It was noticeably worn and impacted our comfort during our stay.On a positive note, the buffet was excellent as always. The restaurant staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and professional. They continue to be one of the reasons we enjoy returning to The Capetonian.Our main concern was the reception experience, particularly the lack of room keys and the apparent inability to effectively engage and reassure guests while under pressure. We hope these issues can be addressed, as we would like to continue supporting and enjoying your establishment.
