    Terrible experience at City Lode Hotel Pinelands

    I have had the worst experience at the City Lodge Pinelands Hotel, From the Time I arrived until I decided to leave four days early than my booking.When I arrived on the Saturday afternoon, booked to stay for 9 days, I was met with such a lethargic receptionist. Talking extremely soft and slow, where I had to ask her to repeat everything.Check in and she again tells me the Wi-Fi details, get to a pretty ordinary cramped looking room. Try to connect to the Wi-Fi, it doesn't work. Then I realise on the card given to me that I am in Room 223 but the password has 221. After unpacking and was about to go back to the reception I see the Wi-Fi started to work, Great. She must of realized and rectified the mistake, or just took her time to activate it.After unpacking, and sorting my Lap Top and Chargers out, i realise the room does have a phone charging point near or by your bedside. Only one charging point across the room on a counter. Well I had to deal with having my phone charge across the room, wake up from my bed and go across to the counter every morning when my alarm sounds.Baggage storage area that is behind the door, fairly standard place in most hotels, but here if I left my bags there the door will not open. :-( Bathroom sink, clogs up to the top before it slowly drains through. Brushing your teeth in the mornings becomes an unpleasant experience.Open your only window in the room, that has a huge tree in front, with branches that you can even touch, or someone can come into your room from that tree. Mind you I am on the first floor.Worst part was the breakfast. That was paid for in advance for my full duration of stay. When I checked in the receptionist confirmed it was bed and breakfast. On my fist visit to the Buffet breakfast i am told to pay, so I advised them that it is paid for, they go and check and confirm all is ok I can proceed to the buffet.A fairly ordinary hot and cold buffet. The Cold stuff is well layered out and displayed, the hot stuff is in a tiny corner, with small little pots, controlled by a chef who dishes for you. The Hot buffet station only has the regular breakfast items, Bacon ( That looks boiled with fully of the white residue), Beans (the worst I had tasted, it was those cheap baked beans, that is tiny, hard with a terrible tasting sauce, The cheapest canned baked beans they could get and was just heat in a pot with water)Pork and Beef sausages, ( the pork bangers, was soft in texture almost as if it wasn't fully cooked, and was soaking in a pot fully of water)Beef sausages was as if it was boiled and was also in a pot with full water at the bottom.hash browns, scrabbled eggs, cocktail sausages was pretty basic.The chefs, staff, was quiet stubborn and arrogant. no smiles, no attention to what they are doing.Why I am writing this review, is because I ended up leaving four days earlier, due to a terrible tummy issue which I presumed was caused by their 1 star breakfast. which I had for three days in a row.at 3am in the morning I left that hotel.6 days later and i am still suffering with tummy pains, bloated , nausea, vomiting.There was no experience worthy in this place. All staff is arrogant, no smiles, or greetings.I would avoid it like a plague.

    Great place to stay for business purposes. Clean rooms with airconditioning. Modern bathrooms and all in good working order. Room was beautiful. Client service can improve at help desk, location terrible tho.     Overnight stay - would not hesitate to stay again

    We stayed 1 night to visit family. It was a great hotel, very comfy beds and clean. Staff were very helpful whenever we needed anything. Note, there is ground and first floor - no lift in the building. Very convenient parking and the complex is secure. Would not hesitate to book another stay.
