Absolutely lovely hotel - we would stay here again.

We were very impressed with the staff at this hotel - they were all so friendly and sociable and this, combined with the overly setting and rooms made for a wonderful stay. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the atmosphere is tranquil.

Had a nice time here. The hotel is clean, welcoming and comfortable. It has all the modern amenities I required and I slept well. Air con is good, a comfortable bed and the communal outdoor space has nice greenery. Breakfast wasn't special but it was more than sufficient. Staff were very nice and accomodating, thanks! The only small issue was that the bathroom turned into an accidental wet room due to some seal problems.

    Stunning boutique stay

This is a stunning beautiful country / lodge in Outdshorn.Unfortunately we only had 1 night here on the way back from the garden route to break our Journey up from Amakhala back to Cape Town. You can easily walk to some restaurants down the street and is located a few KM from Cango ostrich farm, Cango Caves and other end short distance from Klein Karoo Market (Mall)The room was stunning and beautifully decorated with one of the most comfortable beds we had slept in on our whole trip which was needed for our 5 hour drive back to CT.Gardens are stunning to be around and sit in and has a pool as Outdshorn can get very hot in their summer months to cool down.Breakfast had a good choice of fruits, yoghurt, pastries, cereals and bread as well as a selection of filtered coffee and a menu for hot breakfast mainly a different selection of Eggs such as omelettes/ poached eggs fried eggs etc which is helpful all on offer for a great start to the day.The lodge has some resident Kitty’s 🐱 one called Moji a cute ginger and white cat and we saw a cute girl cat black and white cat if your animal lover this is great as cats are hard to see in South Africa so we loved this. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and this is a place we would 100% come back to whenever we are out this neck of the woods in South Africa.

Check tv connections before receptionist leaves for the night otherwise you might not have channels later

It's a lovely hotel in a nice, accessible area. Booking was easy and I sent them an email to make a dinner reservation as they only serve breakfast.Standard rooms are comfortable but not huge. For a couple for R2100 for a standard room, you only get a double bed, if you want a bigger bed you need to upgrade to a more expensive room. Their rate is already on the higher end, one would expect a decent size bed. Bathrooms are big with ample space and storage. Shower was incredibly slippery which could pose a danger for the elderly (this is either the cleaning materials or the type of tile on the floor, not sure) just beware.Very safe, secure inside parking, a nice welcome drink on arrival are nice touches. Gardens are huge and spacious and beautifully maintained. All rooms are in a row facing the garden/pool area and each room has an outside seating area with table and chairs. These are all next to another and if you are trying to rest but the guests in the room next door are have drinks and chatting/laughing on their patio, you can hear every word and noise. They made a dinner reservation for us at a nearby restaurant and organised a taxi service when we were ready to leave. We had mosquitoes in the room and when I asked reception for spray I was informed they only had 1 bottle and that guests in another room had it but they were out and I had to wait until they returned to get it from them. When we returned from dinner, we discovered that of all the 10/11 channels of television available only 1 local channel worked and was broadcast on all the available channels. At this stage the only person available to talk to was the night guard/security who informed as that office/reception staff had gone home and taken the office key with them and there was nothing he could do to fix the problem.I raised this with reception when we checked out and the response I got was "sorry the decoders must have reset themselves, we will have a look" . I replied that this didn't really help us now that we were checking out. I noticed from previous reviews that other people had the same issue on earlier occasions so maybe this is not just a once-off problem.Breakfast was basic, some fruit, some pastries, cold meats, etc. Hot breakfast was satisfactory but as with a lot of places kitchen staff have no idea how to cook an egg.It was a comfortable, reasonable place to stay, however in my opinion overpriced for what the room offers.
