Location

Ideal for families and young people, this eco-hotel is situated in a quiet area in Knysna, right by the sea.

Facility

The property includes 2 villas/houses as well as 7 suites. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services include a baggage storage service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas (no extra charge). A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for no extra charge. Services include an alarm call service. Guests can also use the for no extra charge bicycle storage facilities. A conference room is available for conferences, lectures and meetings.

Rooms

The rooms include a fan, a living area and a bathroom. Most of rooms include a balcony or terrace as a standard feature. Guests are sure to get a good night's sleep in the king-size bed. A safe and a minibar are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. A TV, a CD player, a DVD player and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. A hairdryer and bathrobes are on hand in the bathrooms for everyday use. Cosmetic products and background music provide additional comfort in the bathrooms.

Sport

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of activities are available at the hotel, for example cycling/mountain biking and paragliding or, for a fee, golf and paddle tennis. With canoeing, sailing and catamaraning available, the hotel also caters to water sports enthusiasts. A wellness area with a spa is available at the hotel.

Meals

The hotel includes a restaurant and a dining room. Bed and breakfast can be booked. The hotel also offers snacks. For guests, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included.

    Our room was spacious and luxurious with super comfy beds, a wealth of amenities, a large terrace overlooking the lagoon and in a quiet area The welcome was exceptional. As we arrived late Rico had booked us a table at a local restaurant in Knysna including a taxi to and from the venue which was unexpected but a lovely surprise. We met Sammi at breakfast who was very friendly, welcoming and attentive providing us with things to see and do in the local area. Nothing was too much trouble including arranging a cheese board to be delivered to our room the following evening. Would highly recommend.     We had a superb 3 night stay at Kononkop this past weekend. Thank you to Mark, Adele and their hospitable staff for a cozy stay. We enjoyed our morning dips in the heated pool and loved the delicious breakfasts which set us up to enjoy our days out and about in Knysna. Huge comfy beds with crisp linen made for a goods nights rest!!     Lovely guest house with a big heart

    Such a lovely guest house with an extraordinary beautiful view. Host were amazing and made us feel like family. Diamond suite was large and had a spectacular view as well as a nice terrace. Spotless and very modern. Very good breakfast. I can highly recommend Kanonkop to anyone visiting the area. We will certainly return.     Superb in every way

    We stayed at Kanonkop House for 2 nights last week as part of a 14-day trip along the Garden Route. I had read all the great reviews but nothing prepared us for how beautiful this place is. From the moment we arrived Sammi was amazing - suggesting things to see, booking golf, massages and restaurants and driving us into town in the evenings. She even arranged for my husband to see her family doctor as he had been suffering with Cape Town tummy for a few days - nothing was too much trouble. This really is a magical place. The views are out of this world, the staff are fantastic and it just really works. We briefly met the owners, Mark and Adele, on our last morning and they couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. The best way I can describe Kanonkop House is that it feels like you are staying with friends at their beautiful home and they are spoiling you to a perfect few days.     Relaxed luxury with fantastic views of Knysna lagoon.

    Kanonkop house is a very special guest house. It is relaxed luxury throughout with the most fantastic views of Knysna lagoon. Mark and Adele the owners with their staff make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. When we arrived back in the afternoon a cup of tea was brought to our room which was such a lovely touch. The swimming pool is a lovely way to relax after a day out. They help you organise local golf on the beautiful Simola and Pezula courses for a good price. The boma nights are great feasts and fun too. Breakfasts are the best - all freshly cooked to order with lovely fruit and a breakfast table to choose from. We have been back many times and will be back again !
