Lovely Boutique hotel with fantastic view from room. Lodge rooms were big with great old furniture. Bathroom was also big with bath and shower. Food was delicious, staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Lovely stay.

    Very negative experience

    rating03 Apr 2026

We stayed at this hotel with my family for just one night, but unfortunately the experience was very negative. That evening we had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant without any issues; however, the next morning we noticed that money was missing from a backpack inside our room. When we reported what had happened, we expected at least a professional and understanding response from the staff. Unfortunately, the reaction from the manager, Sarita, was the opposite: her attitude was aggressive, lacking empathy, and completely inappropriate for such a delicate situation.Beyond the material loss, what impacted us the most was how our complaint was handled. We felt mistreated, ignored, and faced with a complete lack of respect. It’s an experience we definitely would not recommend.

A must stop-over if in the area!

What a find on the middle of nowhere (or so it seemed!) . It’s a working ostrich farm. Fabulous, amazing, the best rooms ever! Our rooms were so large and exquisite, it was a real treat. The evening meal was also amazing and a good deal.

    Oh dear

    rating28 Nov 2025

We arrived in the middle of a heavy thunderstorm so some of the issues we encountered were to be reasonably expected and naturally forgiven:- no WiFi - no telephone - flooded pathways- possibly being generous no water supply in our room? However, - the unwelcome greeting ? No “oh my goodness you must be soaked, come on in, so lovely to have you …” instead it was simply fill in this form ( the lighting was so poor I couldn’t even read it!)- then before we had even checked in it was dinner is at this time, choose from these ( she verbally reeled off a list) no idea on price or whether we were talking grilled, boiled, spicy etc, so you choose blind …- the non existent advertised minibar? Apparently people steal, so they don’t offer that service now … so don’t advertise it in the rooms and on the fridge!- the 2 broken chairs- the broken wardrobe- no access to the safe- the tap top coming off- the tv not plugged in, nor could it have been for ages as the socket was behind an 8 foot by 5 foot dresser my husband decided was the one thing he was going to solve that evening as he chuntered about what an unloved potentially special and beautiful place this experience was proving to be….- no surprises the advertised turndown service did not exist- the spa we were on sold whilst checking in had no availability - the WiFi was fixed several hours later after we flagged that everyone had WiFi except us. Our room really was the forgotten and unloved end of row one ….Dinner was however good and very generous. A little weird being both waitress and buffet on a single plate of food? Quirky from my perspective, but humour was fading. The waitress, another receptionist and the repeat visits from the maintenance chap introduced us to some pleasant staff, but even then we were served tea not coffee.Breakfast is next and even that time had to be specifically specified, not just simply between 8-10 or whatever.Oh and we are staying on an ostrich farm, having taken a significant detour to learn about the birds, but no mention of tour or a contingency to reflect the short storm? The offer of a post dinner talk or pre breakfast bird greeting 😀?A sad experience
