Premium room is not premium quality

    rating13 Jun 2026

I originally booked a Premium Balcony Room; however, upon arrival, I found the room to be significantly affected by external noise, and the creaking floorboards made the experience even more disruptive. To their credit, the receptionist was helpful and promptly assisted me in moving to a different room. Although the replacement room was of a lower category and therefore less expensive, it was quieter and more comfortable. What disappointed me was that, despite paying for a premium room and being moved to a cheaper room due to issues with the original accommodation, no refund, credit, or alternative compensation was offered. There was no adjustment to the room rate, nor was I provided with a credit that could be used towards food, beverages, or other hotel services. I felt this fell short of reasonable customer service expectations. Cons:* The level of street noise was excessive. While this may not be entirely within the hotel's control, the double-glazed windows did little to reduce the noise. I would strongly recommend bringing earplugs if you decide to stay here. * This is not a hotel I would describe as relaxing due to the noise levels.* The front door access system was unreliable at times, and on several occasions my key would not work, requiring staff to buzz me in.* The laundry service was incredibly overpriced for what was offered.Pros:* The room was clean and well-maintained.* The bathroom was spacious and a good size.* Staff were helpful when assisting with the room change.

Not suitable for eldery people !!!

    rating31 May 2026

Hi, I want to share with the next customers of this hotel, what was my experience without adding or taking off any things. First of all, the two guys at reception, mr Tatenda and mr Tamy Zhoy were very kind and helpful. Expecially mr Tatenda took my luggage ( 23 kg. ) up to the 27 steps ( more or less, I don't remember exactly ), very steep, from the entrance ( you have to ring the dorbell ), to to reception and room level. No lift . My room was the n° 1. The room is pleasant with a nice and big balcony. The bed is huge and very confy, pillows included. The shower was ok too. Unfortunatly, the room n 1 and the hotel. of course, faces Long Street ( omen nomen ), the most noisy street and dangerous. at night. of Cape Town. The room is dimly lit so it's impossible to read anything. Sleep is also affected by street noise until late at night, expecially on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. No breakfast, so, the evening before I ordered the breakfast to the reception and I could eat at the restaurant close to the hotel for 7,30 am. It happened that the owner of the hotel didn't awake in time, because the night before closed very late, and I remained without breakfast !!! The owners, kindly, to apologize, gave me a bottle of wine. Hotel Revenue Management, Revenue Management at Long Street Boutique Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sincerely sorry that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations.Regarding the absence of a lift, our property is a historic building and unfortunately does not have elevator facilities. We do, however, make every effort to communicate this information on our booking platforms and website so that guests can make an informed decision before arrival. We also regret that the noise levels from the street affected your comfort. As our hotel is situated on Long Street, one of Cape Town's busiest and most vibrant streets, there is naturally a higher level of activity and nightlife in the area. This is highlighted in our property description, as many guests specifically choose our location for its lively atmosphere and central position. We are additionally sorry that you missed breakfast during your stay. As a gesture of goodwill and to express our apologies, we were pleased to offer a complimentary bottle of wine, which we hope helped to make up for the inconvenience. We value all guest feedback as it helps us improve our service and ensure expectations are clearly communicated. Thank you again for your comments, and we hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to welcome you back in the future.Kind regards,Management

Great place that's close to many sights

    rating28 Mar 2026

I was offered a choice of two rooms as the noise from the street can be loud at night. I chose the quieter option and on the first two nights noise wasn't a problem. Unfortunately for me, my third night happened to be on pay day and the night clubs were very loud and this continued until almost 3am. This is not the hotel's fault and they did their best.My room was comfortable and cleaned daily. Every one of the staff was friendly and helpful. I felt safe at all times. Coffee machine in the room was a great addition. Revenue Management, Guest Services / Front Office at Long Street Boutique Hotel, responded to this review Thank you for the feedback. We apologize however for the unpleasant noise on the street due to our location in the heart of the buzz of Longstreet. Although we have double glazed windows that go a long way blocking the noise some nights are just busier than others. We truly however appreciate you choosing us, we hope to see you once again.

4 days stays in the Long Street Boutique Hotel

    rating25 May 2025

we stayed 4 days in this hotel - Yes there is a lot of noise in the night, we knew it before taking the booking and the staff was clear about this. But even with the noise, we had a very nice stay - the staff was very helpful, nice and always smiling - the rooms were clean, comfortable, and safe - the hotel is in a area where you can fin a lot of restaurants and closed to the bus stop from City Pass - we were on vacations and we decided that some noise was not so bad versus the amenities available in the area. Life is short, we were lucky to do this wonderful trip, Cape Town is a magnificent city and we were aware that many people living in the city have not the same luck to live what we were living - So, it is better to appreciate how lucky we were to be there. Thank you to the team in this nice hotel.
