  Good budget hotel in great location

  Great hotel close to Myeongdong area, about 5-10 min walk. Hotel is on an incline uphill, luckily not too far from the 6015 Euljiro 2 bus stop from Incheon. Single rooms are compact, typical of budget accommodations in Asia, but the bathroom configuration is particularly tight for getting in and out of the toilet and shower. Air conditioning works well, and the fridge in room is welcome, as well as the water dispenser in the hallway. The breakfast is a particularly nice perk, while it’s a simple continental breakfast (with cereal, bread, coffee, juice and eggs), it’s a welcome start to the day.

  We stayed as a family of five across two rooms at Ehwa Hotel and found it to have more of a guesthouse feel than a traditional hotel.The property is very quiet and in an excellent central location, just a short walk from Myeongdong shopping street, the street food market, and major transport links, which made getting around Seoul very convenient.The rooms are basic and quite small, but they were clean and comfortable, and the WiFi was good and reliable, which made staying connected easy during our stay. Housekeeping is minimal, with rooms only cleaned or towels changed if requested, which is worth being aware of in advance.Check-in and check-out are strictly enforced (3pm check-in and 11am check-out). The front desk is only manned intermittently, so assistance isn’t always immediately available.Breakfast is very simple but adequate, consisting of toast, coffee, tea, cereal, and a basic Korean-style offering including boiled eggs. There is also a lift serving the upper floors, which is helpful for luggage.Overall, it’s a budget-friendly, no-frills option in a fantastic location—best suited for travellers who prioritise convenience, quiet, and reliable WiFi over space and full hotel services.

  A very central and nice hotel

  The hotel was located just a five minute walk away from the Myeongdong shopping street and there was also a bus stop and train station nearby. The rooms were small but very clean and warm. That staff was super nice and you’re able to book a taxi to the airport at the front desk. My Siblings and me would definitely stay there again.

  Good hotel with friendly staff and is in proximity to lots of shopping and sites if you don’t mind walking. Rooms are small but clean.Included breakfast is basic but does the trick.

  I stayed here for four nights, choosing this hotel based on the positive reviews I’d read. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to those expectations. I want to provide an honest account to ensure future guests aren’t misled as I was. Below, I’ve outlined both the positives and negatives of my stay:Positives:* Convenient location* Well-equipped workspace in the lobby* Beautiful view from our room* Courteous check-in staff member* Efficient heating system* TV with YouTube and Netflix access* Reliable Wi-Fi* Room had a charming layout* Free umbrellas available for guest useNegatives:* Towel Policy: We were warned that makeup stains on towels would result in a fine. This policy felt unfair and stressful, especially since makeup use isn’t limited to women and even thorough cleansing can leave faint traces. White towels only exacerbate this issue.* Staff Presence: The hotel staff was rarely available. We encountered just three employees during our stay, and they were not approachable. Upon arrival, the front desk was empty due to the “cleaning period” (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM). A phone number was provided for emergencies, but as tourists, we couldn’t make local calls.* No Elevator to the 8th Floor: We stayed in a VIP room on the 8th floor, but there was no elevator access—a major inconvenience given the size of the room, which could accommodate up to eight people. Carrying heavy luggage up narrow, winding stairs without assistance was exhausting.* Bathroom Issues: The shower and toilet were combined in a cramped space, with yellow-stained grout.* Dirty Walls: The walls were visibly stained, which detracted from the room's overall appearance.* Hazardous Room Design: The room appeared to be a converted attic, with low, drywall-covered beams that posed a tripping hazard.* Toilet Paper Situation: Guests were instructed not to flush toilet paper, but there was no bidet provided. Additionally, the toilet paper holder was inconveniently placed on the opposite wall.* Beds: The mattresses were very firm, which some may find uncomfortable. The loft bed also lacked proper lighting.* Breakfast: The breakfast offering was minimal—just two types of dry cereal, bread, hard-boiled eggs, and coffee.* Basic amenities: The basics were not included, like an iron and microwave I cannot recommend this hotel, especially considering the many nearby alternatives that offer better experiences at similar or even lower prices. I hope these suggestions help EHWA improve their services and facilities, as I see potential for the hotel to succeed with some necessary changes.
