    AVOID

Avoid this place at all costs! You’re better off spending a little extra to find somewhere more comfortable. The room was outdated, stuffy, and had a terrible smell. If you have asthma, don’t even think about staying here; it could completely ruin your trip since the air circulation is practically nonexistent. I booked my stay for 5 days and 4 nights, but I ended up leaving after just half a day. There was no compensation, even though one of us had to go to the hospital the next day due to the poor condition of the room. It looked nothing like the pictures they posted online.

    Great place to stay

This was a great hotel to stay in for a trip exploring Seoul. It was centrally located to metro stops and walkable to many fun neighborhoods. The room was clean with all necessary amenities provided. The room and bathroom were plenty spacious. Everyone who worked here was very friendly and helpful, especially the host John! Thank you! :)

    Would stay here again

After reading several reviews about Hostel J Stay, I decided to give this accommodation a try as I am a lone traveller and wanted to take this trip nice and easy. The check-in and check-out was fast and easy. Reception service is not 24 hours but there will be someone looking after the front desk between 8am to 11.30pm to assist you. Staff who assisted my on my check-in was Tia. She was extremely helpful and could speak English, Mandarin and Korea. Within 5 minutes of checking in, Tia came knocking on my door apologizing that she has made a mistake by charging me the hotel fees. I have already paid up front via another site and completely forgot about it. She cancelled my credit card transaction immediately.Location wise, it is very convenient. You can take the Airport Limo Bus (6015) and it takes about 1 hour from Incheon Airport. Once you reach the destination, it will take you about 7 minutes walk to the location. There are two entrances to the hostel and one of the entrances in the back alley has a lift. This is the back alley before you make a right turn along the main road. The subway is just minutes away from the location and serves two Lines - 2 (Green) and 5 (Purple). I particularly enjoyed the local market feel (Bangsan Market, Pyounghwa Market and Gwangjang Market) and visited them as they were nearby. The room (double room with private bathroom) I booked was spacious. There is a small pantry just behind the reception counter and you can change new towels there. Do note that they only provide face towels. Breakfast was simple (bread, butter, jam) and you can also buy instant noodles back to cook. Coffee and tea were also complimentary. Pros- Good service- Clean and spacious rooms- Convenient locationCons - It can be rather quiet at the back alley during the night, but generally, I find security safe.- The walls are not sound proof and I could hear the next door folks at times.Neutral- Minimal amenities – refill your own toothbrush, shaver, towels (only face towels). I don’t have an issue with this at all. It might be something which you might want to consider.Overall, value for money and I would recommend this place if you are going to Seoul.

The room size is comfortable ,the reception is helpful and friendly. The good thing about this hostel is that they have a pantry (that can sit about 15 people) complete with an induction cooker, water cooler (hot and cold) toaster, pots and pan,cup bowl plate fork spoon chopstick and even have a big scale to weigh you luggage. The only set back is the hostel do not provide bath towel but only provide face towel. They also have a washing machine to wash you clothes (no dryer) and a rack to dry your clothes.
