  Awesome location right in the heart of Insadong

  Absolutely best location for a visit to Seoul. There’s so many restaurants and bars so near. Pretty intense when you arrive but is great when you acclimatise. Clean, tidy and central.   I enjoyed staying at this hotel.It's central and in easy distance to all the key sites that most tourists will want to see in Seoul (palaces, hanoks, a lot of museums).Plus it's near Insadong Cultural street which is good for a range of shopping and great restaurants.Plus, it's cluse to both bus routes and the metro.I would particularly like to thank all the staff who looked after me very well during my stay.   Not a luxe experience but a solid valu

  The Ibis Ambassador Seoul Insadong was one of three hotels that we stayed at during our recent trip to Korea. A four-star hotel in Myeongdong was our favorite, but the much-cheaper Ibis was our second favorite. Okay, the room was small (19 M2) but the space was thoughtfully arranged. The luggage rack was big enough for our two large suitcases, and there was ample floor space for our smaller bags. The “closet” was open, but there were plenty of hangers. The bathroom was compact—and the walls/floor were laminate rather than tile—but there was enough counter space for two. There is an in-room safe, refrigerator (two new bottles of water daily), and a fitness center. All good!The hotel is a few blocks away from the Jongno-3 subway stop and a bit further from the Anguk stop (also the pickup point for the Airport Limousine, 17,000 KWR). We found the Insadong neighborhood to be more enticing than Myeongdong, with dozens of intriguing restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was solid if not spectacular: mostly western items without the Korean specialties that we enjoyed at other stays.Biggest drawback? The hotel seems to host major tour groups. You’ll see the buses, and the hoards of people in the lobby, chatting loudly at breakfast. Worse: during our two-night stay, there seemed to be groups of largely unsupervised teenagers/young adults in the hotel. I confronted a group of young women who were noisily chatting in the hall outside of our room; they were apologetic and dispersed. But I later asked the hotel to deal with a group of noisy young men in the hall. And the next morning (7:15 AM), three young men were having a loud conversation in the hall with the doors to their rooms open, music playing loudly. That is the cost of staying at the Ibis. A little context: April and May are peak season in Seoul, and our location in the heart of Jongno — the historic and cultural center of the city, and one of the most vibrant hubs of K-culture — naturally attracts a wide variety of guests, including youth travel groups and young travelers discovering Korean culture for the first time. We take pride in welcoming that energy, but we know it must always be balanced with the comfort of every guest in the hotel. Quiet hours and corridor conduct are standards we hold for all guests, and your experience is a good reminder for us to reinforce this more consistently with our team.We hope the charm of Insadong — and perhaps a quieter hallway — brings you back to Seoul someday.   I would like to commend Lucy from the Front desk, she was very pleasant, good English skills and very accommodating. After a long travel, it was soooo amazing that they allowed us to check in early since our room is ready. This is very much appreciated considering we are travelling with kids. The room is also spacious, enough for family of four. This is why i always choose Ibis in any country we visit, superb service and great rooms.
