Great Location, but housekeeping needs to be improved

    rating26 May 2026

Stayed at the hotel the first week of May 2026 after more than 10 years. I chose to stay at Metro again, as the rate is more reasonable than Skypark III, where I have stayed. The pros & cons:• Good location, and it seems to be the first pickup point to Incheon, so you will not be faced with a full bus, especially during the year-end peak season, (encountered when I stayed at Skypark III) and need to wait for the next.• All the female staff were competent in English.• The female housekeeping staff were nice except for the older bespectacled male staff who was unfriendly and unhappy looking all the time.• The room that I was allocated upon check-in was very cramped due to a huge pillar at one corner, hence very difficult to place the luggage on the floor or on the luggage stand to open, and you cannot even leave it sitting on the stand as there will be limited space to walk.• This room was the last corner room, and it seemed that some nocturnal spiritual happenings during the night which I will not elaborate here.• Requested a room change the next day, and it was a more conducive room without that huge pillar. It was the right decision to change room, and I had a comfortable stay for the last 8 nights.• On the third day I requested 3 extra hangers via the reception and was rather annoyed to get 2 hangers with broken clips revealing the sharp metal pin. It was totally impossible to use this for pants as one can get cut by attempting to open the clip. Please inform all housekeepers that any broken hangers should not be given to guests and they should bring up to management to stock up on new ones rather than keep these for guests! See attached picture.• The housekeeping should attempt to vacuum the floor (likely never), underneath the bed, as there was a snack crumb found in the room I stayed in on the first night, and there was a dusty-looking insect trap, which was likely left there for a long time underneath the bed of the second room that I have stayed in. Also, the luggage stands in both the rooms were dust-laden; hence, please inform the housekeeping to frequently check and clean up these luggage stands.• No built-in USB port, but only an adapter, which was missing from the second room, and I requested from the housekeeper that I take over the one in the first room as I was transferring my things from the previous room. The adaptor from the second room could have been taken by the previous guest who just checked out at noon.• Laundry rooms should have steel rod for guests to hang their clothes while they are doing their ironing. I brought down the hangers for the ironing, but there was nothing that I could hang those ironed clothes on!• The hallways outside the rooms are too dim and feel creepy. The management should look into improving on those that I have highlighted. Despite the negative experience on the first night, I want to stay at Metro again but avoid that room. Also learned that Metro will not switch off the air conditioner during winter, unlike Skypark III; hence, this will be the place to stay again if I am back during the winter season. Though it may be winter, the room will be stuffy and like an oven without air conditioning.I heard that the hotel will be undergoing major renovations and would appreciate it if this is shared on the hotel website to inform everyone when they expect the hotel to be ready for the next room reservations.

A hotel that made me slept so well even from the very first night

    rating02 Jan 2026

I couldn't have asked for a better location! Essential amenities like a water dispenser, instant coffee, and a microwave are readily accessible on the second floor. What elevates this hotel is the service, particularly from Ms. Elin at the reception. Great location: 7-11 and Starbucks right inside the hotel but two very important things missing especially for elderly..

    rating20 Dec 2025

My wife and I stayed in one of the larger rooms with one queen and one single beds. But they only allowed one luggage rack when we have two luggage. We have to put the other luggage on the floor and it’s challenging for elderly folks to bend up and down to get our clothes from the luggage. The other thing is the wall socket is loose. I use a CPAP machine and I’m worried every night the wall socket will come off loose and sparks fly. Sky Song, General Manager at Metro Hotel, responded to this review Dear ChristopherY_13Thank you very much for staying with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you and your wife experienced, especially as it may have been challenging for elderly guests.Regarding the luggage rack, we typically provide one luggage rack per room by default, but we are always happy to provide an additional one upon request. We are truly sorry that we did not anticipate your needs and arrange this in advance, which caused unnecessary discomfort. We are also very concerned to hear about the loose wall socket, particularly given your use of a CPAP machine. Please accept our apologies for the worry this may have caused. We have shared this with our maintenance team and will inspect and secure the outlet immediately to ensure guest safety.Your comments are extremely valuable to us, and we will use them to improve our service and room conditions. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a more comfortable stay in the future.Warm regards,Sky Song

    Perfect location

    rating22 Oct 2025

My room was fine but what stands out in the memory is the helpful and capable staff and the location which is ideal. The walk to the royal palaces is easy and full of interest and crosses the Cheonggyecheon stream, a fine example of urban regeneration. The main railway station is within easy reach and the neighborhood although busy during the day and evening is reassuringly safe. Sky Song, General Manager at Metro Hotel, responded to this review Dear davagibThank you very much for your wonderful review. We’re pleased to hear your room was comfortable, and we truly appreciate your kind words about our helpful, capable staff—your recognition means a great deal to us.We’re also delighted that our location added so much value to your stay. It’s great to know you enjoyed the walk to the royal palaces and the scenic route via Cheonggyecheon, and that you found it an inspiring example of urban regeneration. We’re glad the main railway station was easy to reach as well, and that you felt safe and comfortable in the neighborhood even with the lively atmosphere. We hope to welcome you back to Metro Hotel Myeongdong on your next visit to Seoul.Warm regards,Sky Song
