Ramada Hotel Namdaemun - Worst Hotel with even worst staff

    rating05 Sept 2025

Review of Ramada Namdaemun Hotel – A Horrible ExperienceI rarely write reviews this harsh, but my stay at Ramada Namdaemun was truly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in all my travels. I chose this hotel because I used to work across the street, and I thought it would be convenient. Big mistake.Let’s start with the condition of the facilities: everything is old, worn-out, and in desperate need of renovation. The furniture is falling apart, the bathrooms are outdated, the Wi-Fi is unreliable, and the amenities are practically non-functional. Towels felt more like sandpaper than fabric, the phones are old wired relics, and the overall atmosphere screams neglect. Don’t let the lower rates fool you—this isn’t “value,” it’s simply cheap quality. I even took photos to prove just how bad it really is.But the real dealbreaker here is the horrendous service and unbelievably rude staff. One employee in particular, “Nate,” stood out for his arrogance and dismissiveness, but unfortunately, the female staff I interacted with were no better. When I extended my booking, I was told they “weren’t responsible” and I should call Expedia myself. On top of that, I was forced to check out at 11 a.m. and wait until 3 p.m. to check back into the same hotel. That level of indifference to guests is unacceptable. When I asked simple questions—like recommendations on where to eat—the staff’s response was literally, “Look it up on Google.” And don’t expect any basic service: requests for water, towels, or necessities are flatly denied. It’s shocking that a hotel operating under the Ramada name would treat paying guests this way.For context, I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world—luxury and budget alike—and I’ve never encountered such a combination of outdated facilities and appalling staff behavior. If these employees worked for me in sales, I’d fire them immediately without hesitation.Bottom line: I will never stay here again and will actively warn others to avoid it. With similar pricing, you’ll get infinitely better service and comfort at hotels like VOCO or Fraser Place. I transferred from Courtyard Marriott to Ramada Namdaemun, and it was one of the biggest travel mistakes I’ve ever made.Avoid this hotel at all costs. Ramada Namdaemun is a disgrace to the brand.

The worst hotel i have stayed in Seoul (or maybe in my entire life)

    rating07 Jul 2025

We booked Ramada for 8 days, and not even 24 hours in, we were woken up before 9am by extremely loud construction noises from the room right next to us. It was so loud we couldn’t even hold a conversation, let alone relax or rest. When we reported it to reception, they didn’t even apologize. They just casually said the construction would be from 10am to 5pm every day and when we asked how long it would last, they said they didn’t know. I honestly have no idea why they would place guests right next to an active renovation, it shows a complete lack of care.We had an important appointment that day, so we arranged to switch rooms the next morning at 10am. But again, the noise started before 9am. It was honestly unbearable. We complained again, and they moved us to another room but the new room was nothing like the photos. The entire layout and standard was just totally downgraded. It felt like a completely different hotel from the one they advertise online. To top it off, the receptionist was incredibly rude and arrogant about it. She just said coldly, “It’s different,” with no explanation, no apology, no concern for how uncomfortable we were. The service has been so bad that we honestly don’t even want to stay the remaining 6 days.Definitely wouldn’t recommend. There’s no accountability, no hospitality, and no peace here.

TERRIBLY DIFFERENT LOOKING ROOM (26-28 Octber Stay)

    rating25 Oct 2024

Just checked in and I am posting this from the hotel right now.Take a look at how outrageous the hotel deceives their customers with false pictures. From a luxurious looking hotel depicted in advertisement to a very cheap looking motel in real life. The bedframes, cushioned chairs, design of the walls are completely different. Did I stepped into the wrong room? The hotel and room is also in extremely old and worn out condition. This is a 2 star hotel at current state. The 4 star rating must have been decades ago. This is the worst hotel stay of my LIFE.

    Nice experience in Seoul.

    rating08 Sept 2024

We made a reservation for three nights. The staff was very nice, always helping us when we needed. The location is near to Seoul Station, 15 minutes walking. If you are in the subway and want to go to the hotel you can go out in exit 3 which is near the hotel and that part of the city is nice and safe.Other metro station near to the hotel is City Hall station. Our room was an standard double room, with confortable dimensions, a kitchenette, with refrigerator and freeze. Also had a washer machine. The restaurant is on floor 24th with a nice view of the city. The breakfast was delicious.!!In my opinion the hotel have to update the room furniture and provide new towels to the guest. We had only one night table and outlet. In general I will recommend the hotel, I spent wonderful days in the hotel and Seoul.

Centrally located hotel but more 3* than 4*

    rating19 May 2024

The hotel is centrally located. Good buffet for breakfast, free wife, friendly staff, very close to two 24 hour shops. More like a 3* than a 4* with laminate flooring in rooms instead of carpet but loads of storage and mini kitchenette which is handy. Problems using computer as no @ key on keyboard. No evening meals at restaurant.
