  Great location, but it's really just a hostel

  Step Inn Myeongdong 1 is in a really good location. Perfect if you want enjoy Myeongdong and the shopping street. You have access to everything you need. It also offers basic breakfast which is okay but you have to wash your own dishes. The atmosphere is as expected of a budget hotel/ hostel. It's not great. The rooms are small but substantial. It can fit your luggage but it can be quite cramped it you have a lot of stuff. In terms of value, it is cheap but not so cheap. You can find better accommodations for the price you paid for but it is not in the location. I guess that's what you're paying for, The rooms are clean-ish. The toilet had a bit of a smell which I could not remove despite my efforts of cleaning it. You can hear the noise from the shopping street if there's a show but it did not bother me much. The service was okay. The staff were kind and they can speak good english. Overall it was just okay. You get what you pay for but you can do better.

  Absolutely great location and staff. Conveniently located close to many metro stations, the main train station and public transportation in general. Centric and close to hundreds of restaurants and shops. Staff is great and always ready to help. Special thanks to Kinsey, who was very helpful throughout our stay. Thumbs up for the entire team. Place is no frills, has a quite decent breakfast and a nice common area where you can eat your food and even work if necessary.

  I stayed 12 days in this hostel. Breakfast was included, it was the bare minimum but it did the trick. The neighborhood was great right in the center. I stayed in a girls' room for 6, it was clean, there were flip-flops available for inside the rooms. However, the layout of the beds is very poorly done and leaves just a small corridor to move around. There wasn't even room for everyone to put their suitcase inside the room, some girls left their suitcases in the corridor. The toilets and showers were separate from the rooms but for single use only for girls, no men allowed. Apart from the problem of the room being really too small, nothing to complain about.

  The room is clean, little bit small for three guest. With a view of Myeongdong Cathedral. Breakfast is included. Same food were served every breakfast. The staff are accommodating. They also speak English. The hotel is accessible by bus going to the airport.

  Decent Budget Option For Short Stays

  I stayed here twice in May. The 1st time was just a layover. First off, the rooms are tiny. I stayed in two different dorms and both were tiny. With 2 bunks arrayed against the walls, there’s just about enough space for one person to pass between. The first dorm I stayed in had a tall locker which was narrow, but could fit a medium sized bag. The 2nd stay, there was no locker and everyone had to put their bags & suitcases on the floor.The bathrooms looked nothing like on the booking websites. They are about 1.5 square metres and tiny. There’s barely enough room for a toilet and sink. The shower is over the sink and water is connected to the sink tap. When you shower, the water gets everywhere. At least liquid soap and shampoo were provided. The beds do have comfortable mattresses, pillows and quilts. There are two electrical points and USB ports. The privacy curtains did its job of keeping light out. There’s an odd system where a room is only clean 1 day for every 4 days of stay. I did request one, otherwise the room would’ve been awful.The main thing that this place has going for it is its location right on Myeongdong. Overall, it's decent for the price and location. The cleanliness and breakfast are okay. The place feels more like a hotel with dorms than a true hostel. I think Step Inn is okay for a short stay of a few days. I certainly wouldn't stay for 5 days again.
