    Dead mosquito on the wall with blood stain and the hotel doesn't care about hygiene even a slightest

    I recently had an experience with Trip.com and Staz Hotel Myeongdong 2 in Seoul that I believe travelers should be aware of. I initially made a reservation at a different hotel through Trip.com, but due to their failure to provide me with the necessary check-in code in time, I was unable to access my originally booked accommodation.In a scramble to find me alternative lodgings, Trip.com directed me to Staz Hotel Myeongdong 2. The pictures on their website looked promising, and under the pressure of the moment, and it being past 11 pm, I decided to go ahead with the booking.Upon arrival, the reality was starkly different. Not only were the tissue boxes and desks in a sorry state with peeling surfaces, but there was also a dead mosquito on the wall with a visible blood stain. This immediately raised hygiene concerns for me. I promptly informed Trip.com about the state of the room, expecting prompt assistance. They assured me that they would contact the hotel regarding my complaint. However, this led to no tangible resolution, with Trip.com offering a mere $30 in compensation for the ordeal.To future travelers, I urge caution when dealing with Trip.com and when considering a stay at Staz Hotel Myeongdong 2. My experience showed a glaring discrepancy between the hotel's online portrayal and its actual state. Furthermore, Trip.com's handling of the situation was far from satisfactory. Travelers deserve transparency and accountability, and in this instance, both the booking agent and the hotel fell drastically short.

    The hotel was nice and clean. Close to convenient stores and small restaurant that serves good food with very decent prices . It is close to chungmuro subway station and 3 minutes walk to myeondong subway station. But if you’re adventurous and like walking . The hotel is closed to palace and Namsan tower and also Dongdaemun market and probably hanok village. Our room has decent size for a couple. It has heated toilet seat although there is bidet but it’s not working though we’re not interested of using it. Try also exploring the roof deck for picture taking. The only that caught my attention is the soiled carpet that needs some kind of replacement. But the rest everything is good.

    The stay was a simple stay room looked nice, the price was reasonable, check out was pretty fast, and front desk ladies were nice. I would rate the place more than 5/10 if the room was clean enough and didn’t smell like molded food mixed with herbs and spices, it was weird smell indeed. The hotel didn’t allow me to check in before 3pm event though the hotels were ready but I had to wait from noon till 3 in the lobby. The room I was given had some stains. My stay wasn’t comfortable anyway. Attached pics.

    Great Experience! I felt safe and comfortable while staying at Staz Hotel Myeongdong II.It was clean and the service was good.In addition, it was close to the Myeongdong street. Therefore, I was very satisfied with it.

    This hotel is good for a* simple* stay. If you want to shop in Myeongdong, the location is 5 minutes walk and 10 minutes from Hoehyun!
