Comfortable hotel on outskirts of Santiago

Stayed here for two nights as part of a large group of pensioners doing the Camino. Rooms are large and comfortable. No problems. Food was all buffet style with several options. Not the largest selection I've seen but adequate. Staff were helpful. AVOID
28 Apr 2026
No Air Conditioning in Room was moved twice before I was told that they shut it down and I should open my windows. Température in my room is 24 Degrees C which is 80 Degrees F. This is unexceptable, the only reason I'm still here for two days is because I'm on a tour. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Exceptional staff.

Our easyJet flight from Tenerife was diverted to Santiago. Quite late at night, the sudden arrival of unscheduled 180+ travellers was dealt with courteously and efficiently by the friendly staff. We were provided with a huge room with two king size beds. Buffet style breakfast was served in a bright room with tables of various sizes. Reception staff again helpful in ordering taxis for return to the airport. Direccion Puerta Del Camino, Otros at Hotel Oca Puerta del Camino, responded to this review Dear Mr. Davidk,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at Hotel Oca Puerta del Camino. We are truly pleased to hear that, despite the unexpected circumstances, our team was able to welcome you with efficiency and kindness. It's great to know you found the room spacious and comfortable, and that you enjoyed our breakfast service. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with the reception team, who will be happy to know their assistance was appreciated. We hope to welcome you again in the future under more relaxed circumstances.Warm regards,Quality Department

What a great hotel. Even though it is 4.5km on the Camilo to the Cathedral, it is a short bus ride (number 6, 1 euro per person in Nov 24) to the old city. Large room. Great friendly staff. Highly recommended if we ever come this way again. We ended up dining in the restaurant here for two consecutive nights after trying others around the corner. Atentamente :Dpto.
