I stayed at Blu Hotel in Almansa for 8 nights in october 2025, and I loved it! Big rooms, modern style, really comfortable beds, good wi-fi, nice and secure car-park and very easy access from the highway. I stayed in two different rooms and they both had high standard. The only thing I could have asked for would be bit more to choose from at the breakfast buffet. I hope to come back many times, and I highly recommend this hotel!

I am not Blu
22 May 2023
Hotel Blu is a modern hotel with easy access from the motorway and walking distance to city centre. I had a Deluxe double with just me in it, which was ok. I stayed an unusually long 7 nights , this hotel is predominately more transient with a lot of business coming from workers / business people who have to travel. The restaurant is on the ground floor and is staffed by very pleasant and friendly personnel. The menu was not to my taste and it has lost something in the intervening 9 years since I had a fabulous tapas lunch. However I was in Almansa to eat at other establishments so it was no big deal for me personally. The hotel has WiFi with open network protocol with range extenders, repeaters dotted around. I also had a smart TVI in my room which can act as a hub. So it should be a good signal, but it isn’t. Lots of drop out , unstable bandwidth which makes video calling all stutter and pixelation, not an ideal scenario for a business hotel. The shower over the bath was ok, small shower head, the bath though is an accident waiting to happen. The water is very soft and the bath very shiny, thus leading to a very slippery surface. I nearly went over in the bath before there was any soap used. It needs non slip mat. There are no tea/ coffee facilities in the room so it is a case of being dressed and trudging to the breakfast area or the restaurant. So no coffee in bed. Breakfast is a hot and cold extensive buffet and there is something for everyone. Coffee is good ( not as good as mine at home) for a hotel , in my experience most can not make coffee, period. I would stay here again and be satisfied, my negative comments are aimed at the hotel to get them to make more effort to be better.

Good option and easy to find, but some important drawbacks
12 Oct 2019
This place has much going for it: very friendly and helpful staff, clean, modern facilities, a good cafe/restaurant, efficient lifts and easy parking in the streets outside. BUT. Some of the design features defy belief. Access to reception is through a heavy wooden door which you have to heave open while struggling with your luggage. And the bathroom... When you enter the bedroom you think you have entered an open-plan kitchen. Then you realise: that's the washbasin. And the bathroom has no door. You have to shave etc with a view over the beds and the rest of the room, and of course your room mate has a similar view of you. When you shower, the floor is slippery and water leaks out in considerable quantity onto the bathroom floor. Then, when you are drying yourself off, you are also in full view of your room mate. This is frankly bizarre. Not even married couples necessarily want a grandstand view of their beloved at their ablutions. At least the toilet has some privacy, but more heaving is required, this time of a heavy sliding door. Apart from all that, it's a good option, if a little far from the town centre.

Simple hotel
24 Jun 2019
Stayed for 2 nights there as the only decent hotel that you can found in Almansa. I liked the simplicity of the room, but seriously the service is very limited, and maintenance is on top priority. The phone, hair dryer does not work. The shower is dripping water, fixture is not fixed properly. I will still stay there as there have no choice, take the top floor with the terrace, at least to give you some nice view and sufficient of sun light. The lower room is with a colored glass facade so it projected some Colour to the room which is very personal.

He worked and I walked
05 Jul 2018
We recently stayed a night in Almansa while my partner was working in the town. Hotel Blu was a real treat, unexpected in a little country town. Room was modern, large and had a view of the tree lined street and hills.I enjoyed a massage in the day spa which by Australian standards was well priced. The bar and wait staff went out of their way to bridge and language issues and the food was excellent. If you get there try the Lamb Salad ( wow ).Walking around the see the sights is worth the effort. The castle is currently under restoration, but on a nice day I recommend you have a walk up there and appreciate its size and presence.
