  My wife and I (Mick & Julie Smith) stayed there for 2nd year on trot and it was better this time around. Last year we had the lovely Olexandra and Raquel, this year had brilliant Monica and Gi Gi who are outstandingly friendly and more than helpful ☺️and we stayed in room 10C brilliant view over Med and 100% perfect room. Can't wait book next year's trip and hope they still working there

  bit dated and terrible wifi

  the check in desk is closed more often than it is open, so we checked in at the hotel next door (who were very helpful)nice pools which are not too busy (september) sun is gone in the afternoon No toilet paper or soap etc no sharp knives but there is a washing machine on the balcony (two balconies - one in front overlooking the sea and one in the back overlooking the lake with flamingos)there is a charge for parking -8 Euros / day i believe, which seems strange for a seaside resort - plenty of parking on the road..weird wi fi arrangement - maximum of 2 people online at any on time (not door ro you lots of supermarkets moments away and the beach is a short walk away (they are clearing the seaweed every day so it is now a nice sandy beach with shops and eating places all along the front)little train close by to take you around the townwe were there for a dance - at the hotel next door and the floor was fab and slippery

  Basic but roomy

  We stayed at the Ambar Beach Apartments in October 2018 on a family holiday. We went for a week at a bargain price with TUI for a 2 bedroom apartment. There was a large lounge with sofa beds and dining table and chairs, a separate kitchen, main bathroom with toilet and bath with shower attachment, one bedroom with twin beds and a double bedroom with its own en-suite shower and toilet, which was a pleasant surprise. There were 4 of us but it would have easily slept 6, although the sofa beds were too hard for sleeping on. There were two balconies - one from the lounge with plastic table and chairs and another, smaller one through the kitchen on the other side of the building, so we could choose to sit in sun or shade most of the day. The kitchen was adequate with fridge/freezer, oven, hob, kettle, toaster and enough crockery and cutlery. There wasn’t much space but we did successfully cook a few meals. And we could close the door to keep out the cooking smells and noise from the rest of the apartment. Our biggest disappointment was that there was absolutely no cleaning or linen change. We even had to take out our own rubbish. Apparently there were bins in the grounds, but we never did find them and just used the public bins on our way out. It was a shame that we had to make our own beds and never get clean sheets or towels. There was a rusty washing machine on the kitchen balcony so at least we had the option of doing our own laundry.There was free wifi but we kept getting disconnected. We think there might have been a limit on the number of devices and we all had 2 each (phone and tablet) so there was always one of us with no connection.The apartments are in a separate block accessed through the Diamante hotel. Apparently there is a reception but it was closed for refurbishment and we only used reception in the Diamante, which was fine. There is a small pool with sunbeds (and not much else) and it was mostly in the shade by early afternoon. You could use the pool at the Diamante which was much bigger with all the hotel facilities right there. The Diamante also had a bar, restaurant and entertainment but we didn’t use them. There are 2 huge supermarkets literally on the other side of the road. One of them was closed with building work going on, but the noise didn’t disturb us. It’s a short walk to the Esmeralda hotel where there is a cash machine and small parade of shops, then a bit further to the beach with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. There is also a tourist road train and local buses that take you to the main town where there are lots more shops etc. Overall we were very happy as it was extremely cheap, but I’ve since paid a similar price for an apartment with a maid service. It would have been useful to know these things when we booked, but that’s down to TUI and their poor descriptions.

  Rent Appartment in Building

  I stay in an appartement from I Nov to 15 Dec and I told : An appartement with al you need to stay.Stay this time in an appartement but I rent it directly by an "Immobilario Conpany" that I find on Internet.I want to stay without like I stay at home … but with the sea,the sun and cheap !! This is possible and I will do the same in the winter newt year.

  We booked these apartments with Tui.We stayed in room 13b. Great size apartment, which even had a washing machine. The main rooms looked freshly painted, well furnished , large balcony with table and chairs. The kitchen has oven ,hob,microwave, kettle,toaster,fridge, which were all clean and worked. The utensils ,pots pans etc were a bit sparce but sufficed, although some of the cups and plates were a bit grubby so we washed the lot!!The bathroom consisted of a bath with overhead shower and curtain, toilet and basin with storage, it was a bit tatty around the edges but ok. The washing machine and electric water heater were housed in bathroom and as such no shortage of hot water.The bedroom was probably the worst point as I had never slept on such an old, thin rock hard mattress(I think the floor would have been softer).,so much so I immediately complained at the reception and to their GREAT credit they replaced this old sprung mattress with a brand new memory foam one!! This saved our holiday so THANKYOU.The air conditioning in the room was the apartments own unit so could be easily controlled to your liking. The pool area was basic and great , you could use next door Hotels pool and facilities which we didn’t as our pool was nice and quiet and relaxing.Outside the apartments are two massive supermarkets that are cheaper than UK in most cases (7€ for a bottle of pink gin!). Only 5-10min from beach and Calpe centre with all the bars and restaurants. We absolutely loved Calpe, beautiful resort, beach, ROCK, mountains views, transport etc etc and very family friendly.We booked these apartments for a bargain price, and as such have very little to complain about. I would use again if assured of one of the newer softer mattresses!Ps Free WiFi is Ok
