  Basic Hotel

  My husband booked through Booking.com for a 6 nights. The hotel is the perfect location and a very nice looking building. Sadly that is the best of this hotel. We checked in last Thursday evening at bout 9.30 pm. Two delightful ladies but who gave no information regarding the hotel apart from the key to our room. The next day on waking we went to Breakfast which is basic beyond belief. There was no English breakfast tea, only a coffee maker self serve. I asked if there was any breakfast tea and was told ' not today' there was none any day only coffee that had a slight taste of hot chocolate. There was a silver lidded dish with scrambled egg which has a strange dark colour, bacon very overcooked and a dish which was onions, peppers ? really not sure. On day 3 we were told we could order fried eggs.. this would have been nice to know at check in.The toaster took an age to brown the toast. The worst part was we mistakenly thought the breakfast was included, so we endured this thinking it was paid for. We gave our room number and it was not until day 4 that another person working in the restaurant told us that our breakfast was not included. It was never mentioned before. In fact it was 19 euros each so owed the hotel 152 Euros. What a waste of money. Our room was cold, we think the air con was not working correctly as we had it set at 23 and it was cold. This was room 405. We decided to go to the beach, and set off to buy the towels only to be told on our last day who noticed by our dress I assume we had been to beach that the hotels have beach towels again this would have been nice to know from day one. The staff are generally helpful, I assume the manager a lady with long hair was cold and unfriendly. The hotel needs to value each customer, when they arrive go over their booking. They need to advise the customer what the hotel offers. Basic stuff. There is probably more we were never told about the hotel. Alicante is lovely, a great place and we will be going back. We would not stay here again, basic room very basic amenities.

  Lovely, quiet hotel in a great location. Triple aspect window with fab views. Lovely breakfast. Only marked down to a 4* as there were no English language entertainment channels on the TV.

  Small and old hotel. Nit quality enough. Had to ask gor everything, even for a box of tissues. If you di not ssk you fo net get. Same gor a bathrobe or slippers. Only one old and slow elevator. Breakfast just ok.

  Not what we expected

  For our 40th wedding anniversary I thought I would take my wife for what I thought would be a special occasion to Casa Alberola. Being a Hilton I expected something special.We arrived at the hotel about 13:20 not expecting to be checked in only to be told your room is not ready and check in isn’t until 15:00. We came back to the hotel about 15:40 and allocated room 404 which is an extremely small room. There was no greeting or recognition of being a Lifetime Diamond Member no explanation of the facilities that were on offer so we had to ask about breakfast, had to ask for a kettle with tea, coffee milk and mugs. We were then told that they do not normally put these facilities in the room contrary to your website. Although you offer refreshments and snacks in the breakfast room when we arrived there was little remaining and when we asked if it would be replenished we were told NO. When we went to bed there were hairs on the pillow and when we went for a shower there were nail clippings in the shower tray. The air conditioning didn’t work properly in the room so seemed to have a mind of its own.In the morning we went for breakfast which we found quite sparse and uninviting. I asked for a banana but what was offered were brown and inedible so I asked if there were any better and was told NO but we may have some tomorrow morning which was no use to us so needless to say we ate outside.Before we went back to our room I asked for a late check out again the answer was NO because our room was wanted.All in all it was a very disappointing stay and I feel you are surviving on Hilton’s reputation.All this was reported to the hotel management and I even sent two emails to the general manager but had no response at all. Very disappointing.

  Clean decent but could be better

  Nice room clean and well presented . Did not try the breakfast but seemed adequate though very much not worth 18 eur since the coffee is free anyway . Nice staff overall . Big let down is a basic bar could be operated even if it was just a selection of little wines / beers / pre mix spirits . Found this unusual and would have been nice before heading out or returning .
