    A Perfect Florida Keys Getaway

    rating01 May 2026

My husband and I stayed at Amara Cay for our 25th anniversary and had an amazing time here. The resort has a peaceful, chill vibe and it was just our pace. The food at the Reel Catch was amazing and the staff everywhere were so pleasant and helpful every step of the way. The bartenders were great, the pool was delightful. There were always plenty of lounge chairs and towels and nothing ever felt loud, chaotic, or rushed. We renewed our wedding vows on the beach and Junior went out of his way to help us capture pictures with our friends in several spots along the beach, making it even more special and fun. We took out kayaks and paddle boards a few times and paddled around the ocean. We did visit Three Waters resort, but preferred Amara Cay for its chiller vibe. The shuttle service was also great, both drivers were very friendly and helpful every time we went somewhere. We used the free bikes at the resort a few times too, to cruise around to shops and get breakfast. We were able to walk to a few other restaurants/bars too. This was a perfect spot for us. We will be back, they made us lifers! C F, General Manager at Amara Cay Resort, responded to this review Dear Rebecca,It was a privilege to host you and your husband for your anniversary celebrations and vow renewal ceremony. We’re thrilled to know that our resort provided the ideal backdrop to an unforgettable getaway, and Junior will be delighted to learn that his efforts left such a lasting impression on your time with us. You can always expect a memorable experience when you land on our shores, and we hope you will return soon so that we may celebrate with you again. With sun and sea,Sarah WillResort Manager

    Disappointing

    rating28 Apr 2026

Well…when I booked the stay I was told there was a food/beverage credit of $150. When I got my bill, it said the “credit” was built into my room rate. That’s absurd. When I got to the property at 2:00 with my GF in her wheelchair, I was told it would cost another $75.00 for “early” check in, even though the room was ready. Finally, when we saw the room it was hardly a partial ocean view, more like a parking lot view…they did change our room upon request. So, the experience was less than we had hoped for her special birthday. C F, General Manager at Amara Cay Resort, responded to this review Dear Chef 13,It was a privilege to host you and your girlfriend for her birthday celebration, and we greatly appreciate your review. We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding regarding your credit, and we're glad to know that you were able to apply the amount to our fabulous Tiki Bar. We hope that our team’s eagerness to provide you with the perfect room highlighted our desire to create the ideal getaway. Welcoming you again would be our delight, and we hope that possibility is something you will consider. Until then, we wish you nothing but the best. With sun and sea,Sarah WillResort Manager

    Disappointing experience

    rating23 Apr 2026

Amara Cay Resort has seen better days, and the hotel is not up to the expected standard even for the the Keys. I booked the suite to celebrate my anniversary, and I would not stay here again. Room 202 was extremely noisy with the sound of the elevator motor going day and night combined with the car traffic from the overseas highway. The room overlooks the parking lot, and the room amenities were often not functional (i.e. microwave did not heat up anything, the toilet paper holder was broken, the internet connection was unstable, etc). I was unable to attend any of my work meetings due to the unstable internet which caused problems. The service in the room was also suboptimal, and basics were not replaced (daily coffee). The resort fee is a joke since the water taxi was not running, and it was really just a way to add to the cost. Overall, this property is not recommended. There are plenty of choices in the middle keys. C F, General Manager at Amara Cay Resort, responded to this review Dear Nomad798967,Thank you for joining us and for taking the time to share such valuable feedback. As a leadership team, we place great value on the reviews shared by our guests, as this feedback gives us a glimpse of what our travelers most value and where we can further enhance the experience, so we greatly appreciate your comments. We hope that our team’s hospitality made you feel welcome, and we hope that you will reconsider returning to give us the opportunity to win back your heart. Until then, we wish you the best. With sun and sea,Sarah WillResort Manager
