    Quality Hotel just out of the city centre easy to walk to city centre

    Lovely hotel, great double room with quality bed. We first thought the hotel was too far out of of Alicante as we like to walk and not taxi into the main areas. After a couple of days we found that it was well placed out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Nearby there were lots of bars/restaurants which the local Spanish population and visited them. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We also used the roof top pool and solarium which was great.     Nh hotel Alicante is only 20 minutes by bus from the Alicante esplanade and it is really not very far from the shopping center!The hotel’s cleanliness was very very good.     I would like to say the NH Alicante is superb. Beautiful decor, spotless rooms. We had a standard double, looking over to the castle. Fifth floor. No balcony- but it was not missed. Staff in reception were so helpful helping us to find places. Special mention to Kati helping us on our first day. And also a special mention for Alto?? I hope that’s right? The buffet breakfast is well worth shelling out for! The choice was excellent. I would revisit this hotel purely for this. Rooftop pool (small) was excellent in July and very much needed! Just ideal for a quick dip to cool down. You would not be swimming lengths in it! Not a huge space for sunbathing but this is not for me all the time on holiday. Rooftop bar also lovely at night for cocktails. A very chilled break. I would recommend this hotel for business, couples, friends. Families were at the hotel too. You do have to catch the number 1 or 2 bus into the city 1 euro 45 each. Buses are all air conditioned. The bus stop is a short walk through a safe suburb. A taxi we took to the castle was 7 euros. If you don’t mind a 15 min ride into the city then this hotel is fine. We liked the fact it was out of the noisy centre and a quiet neighbourhood. Local tapas bar around the corner was excellent. Siberian ham platter and tostadas were lovely. Very reasonably priced cocktails too! You can tell it was popular by the number of local Spanish families and friends gathered there.
