This attractive beach hotel is to be found in the tourist centre of Calpe, and is only one street away from a sandy beach (20 m). The pulsating town centre, which has an array of shopping and entertainment venues, is a few minutes from the hotel. The nearest public transport links are within just 50 metres of the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 284 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 7 storeys and are reachable by 3 lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities.     We had a great room overlooking the beach, and although it’s paid parking, at least it’s secure and under cover. Couple of negatives being the beds - not the quality we’d expect - and shower over a bath! Can’t imagine why anyone would want a bath, and it makes it difficult for low mobility people to get in and out. The buffet is fine for breakfast (although remember that the coffee machines use powdered milk 🤢) and dinner - plenty of choice for all tastes. Very close to Calpe beach, shops, restaurants and amenities. A great view from the top floor poll & bar although hard to get service!!     The location of the Bahia Calpe was ideal and we loved the view from our balcony. We were very impressed with our room which had an entrance foyer with table and chairs. The bedroom was huge with a 6 foot bed which was very comfortable. There was plenty of space in the mirror-fronted wardrobes. The en-suite bathroom was also large with a powerful separate rain shower and a jacuzzi bath! Be sure to ask for one of the rooms at the end of the hotel!The balcony was small but fine for our needs and furnished with a table and chairs.Our only downside was the food. It was never warm, let alone hot. I can't comment on the quality because I can't stand lukewarm food. Consequently I would choose a salad, even at breakfast! There appeared to be plenty of choice. We thought the cost of the evening meal rather high, especially if you added a drink, and we found much cheaper good food at nearby restaurants. Having said this, we would definitely return to this hotel in the future as it was mostly good value.     Hotel Bahia Calpe. Avoid this hotel!

    This was probably the worst hotel I have stayed in. Firstly there was a kettle in the room but no tea and coffee so I enquired at reception and was told to go to the supermarket and buy our own! Now this is a four star hotel! In the evening went to the food hall for dinner. Very limited choice but that wasn’t too bad. The quality of the food was atrocious and on top of that it was at best luke warm! This wasn’t late but not long after dinner started. This repeated the next evening. Breakfast was similarly cold but the choice was better. After the second night we decided to eat out and forego our half board. Then the other problem was cyclists with their bikes in all public areas. Corridors, lifts, reception etc. At one time there was at least a dozen bikes in reception gathered around the lifts taking over the whole area. There was notices to say no bikes allowed but staff turned a blind eye. Lastly, you could write your name in the dust in the room and the bed wasn’t changed the whole time we were there. All in all pretty poor. A word of advice to the management, go fifty metres across the road and see how a four star hotel should be run! It has pained me having to give such a negative review but after our experience I felt it had to be written.

    Dated. No atmosphere in bars, downstairs one is in the lobby next to busy lifts, so hardly where you go to relax. The downstairs one only serves simple drinks, you are sent upstairs for cocktails to the windy minimal rooftop bar, devoid of any soft furnishings or soul. Missing the basics in the room - coffee pod machine but you have to purchase the pods from reception for a bargain 10 euros - I mean come on. Breakfast experience tops it all - a real test to sanity walking into a large room stuffed full of guests with tables almost touching and again no soft furnishings, dividers or anything to dumb the din, you have to see it to believe it, absolutely terrible. Rooftop pool is cloudy and cold, and downstairs pool is almost never in the sun as it's squeezed between building. Lifts take an age. Smoke smell comes through air con. Balcony didn't lock. This is really barely a one star, honestly, there is nothing to like.     We previously visited a week earlier and stayed for a week but unfortunately our visit was ruined when a loud music festival was on from thursday to monday which very much disrupted sleep. However , the manager Francisco was very helpfulAnd moved us to a very good room with a fabulous view so we went back for two days a couple of days ago . Im glad we did we stayed in 514 with a lovely view and had a brilliant time the staff were always smiling and obliging especially housekeeping keeping the room spotless,the breakfast was yummy ,and location is fabulous.
