  New modern building located in a newer area of the city yet close to the old town. Nice and helpful front desk staff. The room was large, clean, quiet, with all amenities. They have an underground garage.

  In need of an update.

  This hotel is in need of an update and doesn't compare favourably to other Mercure hotels we have stayed at in France. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and it was useful being able to leave the car in the underground car park all day. However the whole place is like stepping back into the 1980s with very dated furniture and decor throughout. The room was spacious and clean but the carpet was very stained, unacceptably so. The air conditioning had not been switched on in the hotel so with temperatures in the mid twenties we had the choice of sweltering in a stuffy room or opening the windows and having traffic noise all night.

  A one night stay on the way through France.Chosen mainly for its secure parking in an underground car park.As other reviews have said the service is rather cold. Polite but lacking any real interaction.There was refurbishment work going on at the time of our stay with bits of plasterboard missing on the corridor walls and protective coverings on carpets in the public areas.If possible choose a room at the rear of the hotel. It’s noisy at the front with the sound of over excited students leaving bars and the trams that run past the front of the building.Personally I found the bed too hard and uncomfortable. Others had different opinions.Wasn’t impressed that the breakfast room wasn’t cleared during breakfast service with used crockery and cutlery left on many of the tables. It looked scrappy and suggested a lack of care.

  Lovely dog friendly hotel

  Over night stay in Angers. We booked the Mecure as it was dog friendly and located on route for us. Secure underground car park as well. We arrived early evening, east to find. Underground car park is great, although entrance height would have been prevented a roof box! Receptionist was very helpful booked us a local restaurant that was dog friendly. Room was great, overlooking the park. Good size, clean and very comfortable bed. Bathroom was great, shower was brilliant. Good buffet style breakfast, plenty of choice, including a good selection of gluten free food. All in all an excellent hotel, location, value for money and cleanliness. All the staff were so helpful and pleasant. Thank you.   Needs some updating

  We stayed in a suite, which was nice and spacious. Furniture and decor was a bit dated and especially the blackout curtains and net curtains were very stained and had seen better days. The aircon worked efficiently and was quiet. Bathroom was really great and well equipped with very good toiletries (Shower Gel/Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Lotion and Handwash). There was even a make-up mirror. The soft drinks in the fridge were free and there is a coffee machine and a safe. We had a good sleep in the comfortable bed and the room was quiet. Even though it's on the edge of the old town, it's really quick to walk there and it's right next to a lovely little park. The receptionist Cynthia was very helpful.
