    Not the usual Mercure

    rating19 Jan 2025

You pay less than 60 euros for a double room: don't expect Mercure quality. The name is misguided: this is like an old Ibis hotel (prior to Budget and Style revamping). The tiny bathroom looks refurbished, and was reasonably clean. Toiletries were fixed bottles on the wall and they had the fluffiest towels. The bedroom is small and outdated. The bed is very inconveniently placed next to the wall to save space. A "book plank" under the window is your table. The only charging spots are on that table. One uncomfortable chair and one puff are available. There is no mini-fridge, the only room-temperature-bottle of (sparkling) water will cost you 5 bucks. The dinner was fine and convenient with one gluten-free option (though the kitchen closes very early, at 20:15 we were just in time). We didn't take the fairly expensive breakfast. The staff was friendly.

    Basic and expensive

I paid a whopping 133e for a cold room with pillows I wouldn’t put in my dogs bed! Home in pillowcase no breakfast included and bought the worst coffee ever in the bar. Instead of just changing it I got a smart response and an attempt to charge me for two. So weak coffee machine wasn’t properly regulated in my view. I’d book elsewhere if I were you

Don't bother. NOT a four star!

This is at best an Ibis-equivalent hotel. The receptionist even called it a motel. The room is small and poorly equipped. There is no coffee-machine although there is a kettle. One of the cups still had the last person's coffee rim stain. There is no air-conditioning, no fans available and it is hot and airless. The window can be opened but only if you are prepared to leave the curtains open and be in full view of people visiting the Mcdonalds opposite. The road noise is not great either. The restaurant is closed, but I was offered a microwaved mini pizza! If you must stay in a Mercure in the area, go to the Mercure City Nord in Düsseldorf.

Nice hotel, well-placed for a stopover

    rating15 Apr 2022

Travelling west from Poland, I chose the hotel for its location close to the autobahn; there are also two service stations a minute away to the south. On arrival, I was disappointed to be told the bar and restaurant were both closed for the evening, with no explanation given. Fortunately there is a good restaurant, Gasthaus Pont, just a hundred metres away. Breakfast was good, though quite expensive.

    Great Business Hotel

    rating13 Jan 2020

Clean, tidy and efficient. Great for a short business stay. Not too much to do around it but adequate for what I needed. Breakfast was nice and didn't try bar, gym or restaurant for evening meal. Reception was good.
