This city hotel is located in the centre of Almeria, close to the historical old town and the Alcazaba citadel.     Disappointing for a supposedly 4 star Marriot.No upgrade for members and @17 per night for parking after wi fi doesn't work is somewhat of a joke!The room was unbearably hot and stuffy with uncomfortable creaking beds , noisy cleaners and horrible pillows that have seen better days.Wi fi didn't work and the TV didn't work!Parking is via valet parking and after you have no access whatsoever to your car.Its expected that you take your luggage out before your car is parked.Heaven forbid you forget anything!I don't recommend because of this because they offered nothing to compensate other than to come down to reception @7.30 to use the WiFi.Is that acceptable, really it's not!The bedroom wasn't comfortable, toiletries missing from the bathroom and house keeping banging on the door @9.30 after requesting a late check out was poor practice.The staff at reception were poorly trained giving no information on how to access the room on the 5th floor on check in& watching us struggle with bags from the lift by reception which doesn't take you to floor 5!I don't recommend this hotel and there are many more close by who do offer the same experience ie close to the historical centre then this one.Book elsewhere.

    Booked this hotel due to central location. Upgraded to room 232 Large room with both shower and bath. Equipped with expresso machine and complimentary capsules. Parking on site with underground lift. Friendly staff and clean throughout. Would recommend this hotel

    Pick up from airport great thats were it ends. Nobody showed us round, told room 1st floor.. Here to house view told no parking available first week the sign went up €17.00 per day. Pool shut permanently on 3rd week not advised and no signs explaining. Room bedding changed and towels changed on request but the cleaning diwn on room leaves a lot to be desired. Dusted ourselves. Not recommended at all.

    Great location. Close to the Alcazaba and Cathedral. Rooms were okay - Comfortable bed. Nice shower/bath.Staff at the front desk were helpful. Room really needs a kettle! Fridge was useful.Slept badly each night due to the road cleaner that parks up around 1am and created a lot of noise outside the window on the street below for around an hour. Didn’t mind the general chatter you could hear along the street at other times. We were spoken to very rudely by staff with an attitude problem on the last day which really puts me off revisiting this hotel again. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and will favour the more friendly options on my next visit.Breakfast was ok - nothing special.

    Check-in was fine. Requested a quiet room away from the lift,but actually, the lift was in the corridor adjacent to our bedroom. We were given a large room,with a lounge area, and bedroom. There is no window in the lounge, and there is no TV, so it's a pretty useless space.Bedroom had one small window that looked out onto a wall!!As a non-smoker, I picked up the smell of stale tobacco. I'm unsure as to whether it was in the furniture or the air-conditioning, but it was certainly there.For about an hour, I could hear loud clunky mechanical bangs, and it transpired it was the lift as it passed the 2nd floor. I called reception, and someone was sent to listen outside our door, not by the lift as I'd suggested. Then zilch. Nothing happened yet, but the noises obviously continued. Eventually, after 3 hours, I spoke with reception, and we were eventually moved. Each time we used the lift, this noise was more than apparent. When we checked out, we weren't asked if we had had a good stay. We were given the invoice. I'm not sure I'd stay again. As a side note, Marriott hotels (on Twitter ) were absolutely useless and didn't answer my final tweet.
