    Disappointing…

    rating27 Apr 2026

I stayed at the hotel Aire in late April and had a very mixed experience. My room was on the ground floor and was large and airy, however being situated near the main entrance to the front of the hotel and backing onto a main road to the rear, it was quite noisy at night. I was woken up a few times by street noise and people coming into the hotel in the small hours of the morning. I also had no shower gel in my room, as the bottle attached to the bathroom wall was empty, which I feel is a basic necessity that should have been available to me. I had intended to call down to the reception area to request a replacement but the phone wasn’t working, nor was the wifi that didn’t seem to connect in my room - only in the public areas of the hotel. These are basic requirements, which I feel should have been available in a four star hotel, My stay included breakfast but I’m sorry to report that this was not as I had hoped and expected it to be. Compared to other hotels in Almeria that I’ve stayed in, the buffet spread was limited and there was only one rather cold hard boiled egg on offer to have with my morning coffee and toast. The coffee was also not the best - dispensed from a machine that took capsules - and with no dairy free options available to add milk to it. Like many people, I am lactose intolerant so I would have appreciated this option. As for the fresh fruit selection, there was only one remaining strawberry left and some almost inedible watermelon that I ended up throwing away because the taste and texture of it immediately indicated that it was not in its prime. So far the issues I have described are relatively minor but what happened during my visit to the spa is why I have given the hotel a low overall rating. During my spa experience a fellow guest fainted and hit his head on the floor shortly after existing the tepid pool. However, instead of being told to leave the spa area and given basic first aid for the extensive bruising on his back, he was allowed by the attendant staff to remain in the spa and go back into the water. He subsequently entered the hot pool for a short period of time, and on exiting the water again, very predictably fainted a second time . This caused what should have been a relaxing and stress free experience for other spa users, myself included, to feel very uncomfortable and stressed. Unfortunately for these reasons combined, I’m not inclined to stay at this hotel again.

    Enjoyable stay, superb views

    rating08 Mar 2026

We had a really enjoyable 4 night stay here in February. The location is superb – in a very quiet pedestrianised square, with many restaurants and bars close by. It’s a beautiful old building with character. We didn’t use the spa facilities (additional cost) as we were there to enjoy some outdoor time.We booked the Junior Suite with a private terrace with stunning views to the Alcazaba - so nice to relax after exploring for hours and enjoy that view. It was incredibly windy whilst we were there, but still warm enough to sit outside – nice big comfortable chairs. Our room was spacious but did need some storage – one chunky wardrobe with very little space as it was filled with a blanket and the safe, so we had to keep our clothes in our suitcase. It really needs a chest of drawers which wouldn’t ruin the aesthetics of the room.A few maintenance issues – the parquet flooring needs some attention and several power sockets didn’t work. The fridge also stopped working but was fixed when we mentioned this. The small roof terrace is lovely and a very warm small pool – it was never busy during our stay.Breakfast was simple and self-service including hot drinks. Our last morning was entertaining with a big wind/rain storm, with water pouring into the breakfast room and electric sockets, causing chaos for the staff – weather they had never experienced before! We would happily stay here again for a short break before exploring more of the region.

Fantastic hotel room and even better views

    rating08 Feb 2026

Great location, the spa experience is so good, I love the ambient and the salt pool is super relaxing. We were in the Junior Suite and it was the best hotel room we have ever been to, also very quiet. Then, to top it up, a lovely breakfast buffet overlooking the square, the Alcazaba and Cerro San Cristobal, really stunning views.

    Lovely hotel but…

    rating19 Jan 2026

We stayed here 2 nights in a junior suite overlooking the square. Lovely comfortable bed, amazing views. No kettle, phone didn’t work, no teabags, heating only operated via Reception. It was cold. Hairdryer only blew cold air. Not all plug sockets worked. No slippers or robes which seemed funny as it has a spa and ancient baths. Staff very friendly and helpful but had to phone reception from our mobiles.

    Amazing & tranquil stay ❤️

My husband and I booked a night’s stay on 5 Jan to enjoy Almeria city during the Reyes Magos celebrations. Our friends recommended the ancient baths at this hotel so we booked to stay, from the early check in to check out the hotel staff could not do enough for us to make the visit special. We were allocated room 209 which was perfect for a couple and came with one of the best showers we have ever used, the room decor is stylish and modern and the bed was a super king size, there was lovely L’Occtaine products in the room and a good coffee machine along with water. We had booked the baths for 6pm and went out for the afternoon to explore the city. On our return our robes and foot covers for the baths had been laid on our bed ready in our room. The baths were fabulous, the hotel has a gorgeous scent everywhere which I have found out is a signature scent made for AIRE called Orange Garden - it meant everywhere including the baths smells wonderful. The friendly staff showed us around the baths and then we enjoyed 90mins of pure relaxation. The hotel is perfectly situated in the city centre and is close to our favourite tapas places including Taberna Nuestra Tierra and Casa Puga so we had a two min walk to dinner which was great as it was heavy raining. Finally we had a peaceful nights sleep and awoke feeling really refreshed and relaxed from the whole experience.Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back. A big thankyou to the Maria’s on the front desk who looked after us so well.
