  A must after a long flight

  I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel which we have never stayed at (we have used the spa in the past which has a day rate) but we were unable to get to our home early after the flight so decided to spend a night arriving early after the flight. The service food and staff were incredible which is unusual for the azores- clearly well trained and kind and helpful. Relaxing at the spa after a long flight and then a fabulous dinner at Terra was perfect and the breakfast was exceptional. I’m someone who mostly stays at high end resorts and this met my needs and was worthy of the Fine Hotel designation - While I don’t recommend furnas for long periods of time as it’s not central to other azorean activities one night or two is worth it for the spa and town activities- ie hot springs- caldeiras and cheese (the famous lactose free cheese) as well as the furnas Bolos found through small bakeries Nuno Sequeira, Diretor-Geral at Octant Hotels Furnas, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a generous and detailed review.   I would like to start this review with a special word of appreciation for the staff. Without a doubt, it is the team that truly makes you feel welcome, and as a local, I can attest to their consistency and genuine hospitality.I frequently visit this hotel with my family for weekend getaways, and it is the ideal spot for a 'staycation.' Beyond the consistently excellent SPA, which is always a highlight, the restaurant is incredibly cozy.   The staff makes this place. Everyone is helpful and very friendly. Breakfast is top notch. Location is excellent with many restaurants and parks in walking distance. Pools are great.
