Terrible food, cold and dry.

I am currently staying here and the food is terrible, cold, minimal quality, and on top of that, burnt; for the price at this time of year you cannot demand much, but if you want to lose weight by dieting, it is the best way. Originally submitted in Spanish on www.tripadvisor.es. View originals.

It is worth mentiong that we are English as that is relevant to the review. The negatives first.... the hotel is not a typical Brit holidaygoer hangout, it's a Spanish resort. It isn't an issue for us but worth knowing for Brits who want a sunny British focussed resort. And thats the negative...the only one. (And we didn't see that as a negative.)Positives - a good variety of good food. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Cleaned room and towels changed every day. Quiet clean pool with room for everyone. And CHEAP. We paid £700 for half board for 2 of us and that included flights. Amazing!A few highlights: we asked if we could get a kettle in the room. There was no charge and the kettle was delivered so quickly I barely had time to get back up to the room before it was there.The friendliness of the staff who were well humoured and understanding of any requests we madeLoads of parking as we had hired a car and easy access to everywhere by carA couple of supermarkets across the main road but the road noise was not intrusive as some have suggested. Plus you could close your patio doors and use air-conditioning anyway.Very very clean in all areas. The cleaners are excellent. All the staff are excellent. We will return but check out my tips for things you may need to know if you are being specific about certain things. Our room smelt badly of damp as the bathroom extractor did not work. We were upgraded to a family room. Hotel was clean but a little tired. Pool was a little run down.Breakfast was normal fayre. Good value for money as breakfast included.

Not a 4 star hotel - basic ‘boutique’ hotel

Hotel definitely not a 4 star ! Who grades these hotels. !! Amenities basic - outside pool area nice and quiet and clean.No tea and coffee making facilities in room - very disappointing. Our stay did not include food although you could pay as you go. 12 euros each for buffet breakfast - quite expensive. We found a traditional cafe a few minutes walk away which we would walk to every morning for our coffee and tostadas “Cafetería Luna” . Definitely worth a visit. Lovely family run cafe.Strange decor in hotel - very tired looking and requires refurbishment. The staff friendly. Lack of atmosphere. We stayed on the third floor overlooking the beautiful villas and we could see the sea in the distance. Definitely opt for a roomwith the villa / sea in the distance view as there are building works the other side (building apartments). It was not noisy though.10/15 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. We did enjoy our holiday and the hotel was rather quaint but we did enjoy our stay overall. If you want quiet and one small pool and a bar that opens at 11.00 am until 11.00 pm and no tea and coffee facilities in your room then this is the hotel for youx. Roquetas de Mar is not too touristy and we definitely would return to the area but stay in a different hotel.

No way a five star

Never again .you had to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sun bed.if you couldn't manage to get one you had to go on the grass which then meant that you got bitten by flies.food was just okay.staff really were lovely though.couldnt do enough for you.italian restaurant they rush you.asked if we could have a 20 mins break between first course and second but the minute i put my cutlery down they bought out the main.entertainment was more geared up for children.childrens games/disco went on until 9.30pm.I would only give the hotel maximun 3 stars.back to Turkey next year for me.
