  Lovely Relaxing Beach Hotel

We Stayed here last week for 4 nights – Room 259Before arriving, we were a little unsure after reading some mixed reviews, but we really needn’t have worried — this hotel far exceeded what we expected.Jamie at reception checked us in smoothly: friendly, helpful and really accommodating — and that warm, helpful attitude was true of every team member we met, including the bar staff. We booked room-only but ate lunch and dinner at the pool bar a few times; the food was lovely.Our room had a Nespresso machine — great touch. After the free pods ran out, we just bought more from a nearby supermarket instead of paying hotel prices. Bathrobes were provided, though a little on the small side for an adult man.If I had to mention one tiny thing: there was plenty of shower gel and shampoo, but no hand soap or body lotion at first. I mentioned it, and extra items were brought within minutes — perfect service recovery.Plenty of sun-beds available all day — the rule no reserving beds with towels works brilliantly and feels fair to everyone. Even though it was fully booked, service never slipped or felt rushed.Parking was easy too — staff told us about free on-street parking nearby, or a public car park just 2 minutes’ walk away (even shorter if you use the hotel side gate with your room key).We honestly couldn’t fault our stay — and we’re already planning to come back!   Style over substance and not a 5 star experience

  We have recently stayed at this hotel for a short break.It is classed as 5 star, it is lovely to look at, however, I feel it is a case of style over substance.On arrival, as we had checked in previously online, it was a fairly simple procedure, however, we were not given any information on the hotel or its layout. There was no offer of assistance with our luggage even though it was obvious my husband has walking difficulties. The receptionist just pointed to the corridor and said the lift was there, it was a long walk to the lift, many areas were a good walk and flight of stairs to the pool and dining areas even though the hotel states it accessible for all guests.The room was clean and well presented, with a good view over the pool to the sea, but we really did not like the layout of the open plan bathroom, the toilet cubicle was ridiculously tiny.The whole atmosphere of the hotel was soul less, there wasn’t any sort of bar to relax in, only outside tables or high stools and tables in a sort of dining room.We were on bed and breakfast basis, there was a large selection to choose from, but unfortunately there were a lot of small flies around the fruit section and some of the dishes on the hot plate looked like they had been there for a long time.The pool area was good and well kept with plenty of sun beds and shades.For the price we paid we would have expected a lot more, we actually left a day earlier than planned and doubt if we would go back or recommend the hotel. However, we are surprised by the comments regarding accessibility. Accessibility is something we take very seriously and our hotel has been specifically designed with this in mind. We provide step-free access throughout the main areas of the hotel, ramps connecting reception with the common areas, adapted rooms for guests with reduced mobility, and a pool hoist to facilitate access to the swimming pool.Prior to your arrival, the only requirement communicated to us was the request for a walk-in shower, which was provided. At no point were we informed that an adapted room or any additional accessibility requirements were needed. Had we been made aware, we would have been delighted to advise on the most suitable room category and available facilities. Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to respond to needs that are not communicated before or during the stay.We are equally surprised by some of the concerns mentioned in your review, as we have no record of any incidents, complaints or requests being raised with our reception team during your stay. Our staff are available 24 hours a day and always do their best to resolve any issue immediately when given the opportunity.Regarding the atmosphere and services available, it is worth noting that your visit took place during the low season, when certain operational aspects differ from peak summer months.   Just no common curtesy

  We recently stayed at Cabogato Beach Hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience, mainly due to the lack of customer service.From the moment we arrived, the reception felt abrupt and unwelcoming. We were asked questions in a way that felt more like being “barked at” than welcomed, and little to no information was offered about the hotel or our stay.Throughout our visit, this continued across most of the staff. There was a noticeable lack of basic hospitality — no smiles, no greetings, and very little effort to make guests feel comfortable. At times, staff appeared disengaged and even ignored us.What stood out most was the atmosphere among the team themselves. There seemed to be ongoing bickering between staff members, which created an uncomfortable environment and further impacted the overall experience.It’s a real shame, as the hotel itself has potential, but the service let it down significantly. One member of staff was friendly and helpful, which shows that good service is possible — but overall, this was not reflected across the team.We hope this feedback is taken constructively, as improving the level of customer service would make a huge difference.   Excellent 5 nights stay, pets welcome and easy parking!

  Cabogata Beach Hotel - We booked this hotel/resort at the last minutes due to unexpected issues with other accommodation. Wow we were pleased we did! Great parking, very pet friendly and lovely size studio with 2 bedrooms, lounge and balcony (room only). The hotel offered 2 lovely swimming pools with plenty of loungers, and an indoor pool and spa! Lovely friendly reception team; spacious bar area, outside pool bar serving snacks. Restaurant although we did not use it. Access to the promenade from the hotel grounds, with lovely walks and with shops and restaurants within 10 minutes’ walk both ways. Easy driving to Almeria, and the beautiful Cabo Gato National park, both coastal and inland. We stayed 5 nights and loved it!
