This hotel is perfectly located to explore Almeria old town and city. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. Our junior suite was very large and had an amazing shower. The room was cleaned every day and was spotless.

This is an excellent hotel in a historic location. Staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast is good with hot dishes to order. The rooftop bar is a real bonus, a great place to have a drink and look over the city and the walls of the Alcazabar. We would certainly stay here again.I would like to comment on the noise issues raised by previous posters. We had a room overlooking the plaza for Tues and Wed nights (Room 23). There was no noise from people or traffic at all, either from inside or outside the hotel. I cannot speak for the weekends. It's true the cathedral bells ring every quarter hour from 8am to midnight but they switch them off during the hours you will be sleeping. Be careful using the overhead showerhead, if you turn it on full, the bathroom will flood. Half-volume is enough.It's true the bar is closed on Tuesdays and there is no room service, which would be a real problem if you are arriving late on Tues night altho there is an excellent tapas bar (Casa Puga) a couple of blocks away (opens at 8pm, closes at midnight).

Stayed for our anniversary. Lovely hotel in a great location. No turn down service and no robes, which were advertised on booking.com! Asked for Wi-Fi password unfortunately the night reception was-not forthcoming with information. Forgot my mobile charger, no USB ports in the room. ??

Just terrible. The room wasn not soundproof and you could hear the bells from the church every 30 minutes and all the people shouting at night at the plaza. No restaurant service on Tuesday which means no room service and not a decent place to eat nearby. Avoid this place. There are plenty of better hotels in this city.

The Catedral hotel is a friendly and welcoming place situated in the heart of Almeria City. The facilities are clean and spacious and the staff professional and responsive, my husband and I will be staying here more often. Special mention to all the helpful reception staff (particularly Rosario) who ensure that guests experience a comfortable and tranquil stay.
