  Our honest experience at Mediterraneo Bay – ignore the negative reviews!

  Location - lovely beachfront which you can access 30 seconds from the pool / reception. You are slightly out of the ‘tourist’ area but its a 10 min walk to the other major hotels. Atmosphere - predominantly Spanish tourists. VERY busy during the long weekends and relatively quiet through the week. Staff were super friendly and helpful at all times, especially the waiters/waitresses in the buffet breakfast/tea. Rooms - room was slightly more dated than the pictures showed. Also very small for 2 people + baby. There was very little room for clothes i.e. no drawers. We had an issue with ants in our room. Reception did sort temporarily but needed a permanent fix. Despite it being a ‘family’ hotel, for 3 out of the 7 nights we stayed there was loud music coming from the hotel entertainment until 11.30pm-12am. This posed a challenge with a small baby and keeping them asleep despite being on the top floor. This may be normal - it’s our first time travelling with the baby - but did feel pretty late to be producing such loud music which so many families staying.Pool was great, numerous options for sunbeds and pool depth.   Good but a few changes should be made to make it overall a great stay.

  The rooms are clean and tidy, the beds are made every single day which we were not expecting which was a lovely touch. Unfortunately the entertainment was monotonous and repeated 3 or 4 times throughout the 2 week stay, we had a pianist/organist 3 nights on the trot, a violinist who we saw 3 times and a singer who was on 3 nights on the trot. The children’s entertainment was fantastic and if 3e had children we know they would be taken care off. The food in the restaurant became quite repetitive although they do have theme nights which are not advertised so you don’t know what theme is happening on each night and what the theme is. I do recommend the Pizza Bar the pizzas are really nice. Be warned that weekends are really busy when the Spanish come for their weekend breaks and there are always queues for the restaurant. If the entertainment was better and the restaurant advertised their theme nights then this would help especially those picky eaters .I would also recommend taking a travel kettle as the restaurant does not open until 8pm (September) so if you are an early riser!Overall apart from the above it’s kept clean, tidy and the bar staff do interact although some don’t speak any English AttCliente Mediterr, Ventas at Mediterraneo Bay Hotel & Resort, responded to this review Dear Claire,Thank you very much for choosing us for your two-week holiday and for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. However, your suggestion about actively advertising our restaurant theme nights in advance is excellent. It would certainly help our guests plan their meals better, and we have already shared this great idea with our Food & Beverage and Animation teams to see how we can implement it. As you noted regarding the weekends, although we are indeed a very popular destination for Spanish families, we proudly host guests of various nationalities who are always warmly welcomed. We take great pride in offering an authentic gastronomic experience and a vibrant local atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Managing the flow of guests during these peak weekend occupancies is a real challenge in a resort of our size, and we are constantly working on optimizing our dining room logistics to reduce waiting times as much as possible.Finally, we appreciate your tip for early risers regarding the travel kettle, as well as your kind words about our bar staff.
