    Green lush getaway not far from the dry sandy desert. A jewel in Almeria Province.

    Positives...Set uphill out of town in a stunning setting. This place is exactly what you need for a rural get away set in nature. Views. Pet friendly. Nice staff. Stunning pool area. Tennis court. Lovely walks around site. Short 5 minute drive to the Rio Andarax. Walk was spectacular lovely to still be in Almería province but with forest and water not just desert here! Great hiking area with many trails.We stayed at the end of row in a one bedroom Villa 404 located on Calle Alto so first floor but still on ground floor because of clever way they've created the villas. Was soooo quiet and peaceful largely due to no neighbours too. Amazing views. Woke up to views of the tree tops and bird song. Bird watchers paradise. Just perfect. Large room, huge terrace. Mini fridge. Ask for matrimonial bed if needed. Large flat screen tv in lounge. Just around corner from our villa is lovely little trails around premises for dog walks with seating areas/viewing points under olive trees to admire views. Beautiful mini forest and hedgerows for nature all around complex.Negatives...Extremely hard sofa in living room never sat on one so hard in my life guess they think it suitable for dogs. Both ended up with bad backs. Was that bad had to keep lying on beds for comfort. Fridge was loud buzzing. Windows especially bedroom could do with mosquito netting as wouldve loved to slept with window open to save use of aircon. Although they advertise pet friendly sadly pets not even allowed on outside terrace at bar. So we only used hotel restaurant for 1st night and then sadly wasn't impressed with food. Ate in town for next couple of nights but only 2 restaurants open in whole town mid june? Very difficult to eat with choice in this town but highly recommend Patio Garbin as they also allow well behaved dogs under 20kg. You could take your own cooking facilities i.e camping stoves/ disposable bbq/kitchen utensils etc to use on terrace for example just have to wash up in sink.No horses in stables would've loved a trek around area.You will need a car here.Think this hotel chain need to start investing as is beginning to look drab in places, for example doors, door frames need sanding/varnishing. Kids park was looking very tired. One measly slide and 2 swings. With 3 wooden benches parents couldn't sit on with fear of breaking or getting splinters. They should really revamp this area.

    This is one of the 5 Villas in the Andalucia chain (and the 3rd in which we have stayed). Location - slightly out of town, and up a hill, so not necessarily an easy walk to/from with shopping - better with a car.Parking - cars remain in the carpark, not by your villas, which is more difficult for carrying luggage but creates a wonderfully relaxed, quiet and safe "village" of 50,000m (including pool, a tennis court with amazing views, a small walk through the gardens and playpark).Accommodation - there are 31 in total, approx 15 studios and the rest are 1 or 2 bedroom villas. 301 and 401 even have their own garden and plunge pool.Food - very bland restaurant. Take self-catering, takeaways or eat out (many bars/restaurants in the town)

    Excellent hotel between the Sierra Nevada and Gador. Small lodges around the beautiful gardens.Lovely breakfast and evening meals. Local wines were a delight.     Came across this Hidden Gem by complete accident and so glad we did find it as I never stayed in a more peaceful beautiful part of Spain in my life. If you want the party holiday in Spain this is not the right place but if you’re looking for utter peace & quiet in with beautiful views in the countryside then this is the place for you.The rooms or small villas are fantastic...sitting room huge bedroom bathroom and balcony over looking the pool and mountain side.Value for money is incredible here.The food isn’t fantastic I have to say but for the peace & quiet , the views and comfort I was happy to eat out down in the local town or bring suppiles back to the room .I love this place and I hope it doesn’t change 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 hotelvandalucia, Recepción at Villa Turistica de Laujar de Andarax, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.     See a different side of Almeria and Sierra Nevada - Beautiful location

    The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful villages of Laujar de Andarax and Fondon. It has plenty of parking and the hotel is large, modern, clean with a helpful and welcoming team. The rooms are individual apartment blocks with a balcony and terrace situated amongst the countryside, with plenty of trees, places to seat, easy access to the pool, quietness, dark skies for skywatching and a 20 minute (steep walk) to the local town of Laujar and trail routes such as El Nacimiento.Each room features a bath and shower, wardrobe, fridge, tv and remote, bed which is reasonably comfortable (open coil mattress), air conditioning, small sofa and chairs with bedside tables. Breakfast is a good buffet with freshly made white and brown bread which can be toasted, selection of jams, pates, cold meats and cheeses, as well as the usual cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, fruit juices, teas, coffee, hot chocolate (with hot or cold milk) and pastries. There is a bar open during the day for the pool and the restaurant opens from 8am until 10pm with a 3 course set menu for 15 euros or choose from the extensive options from an extended menu. There are good restaurants in town and tapas bars at inexpensive prices e.g. 2 large beers and tapas for under 5 euros. I would highly recommend this hotel, as I have never stayed in a hotel with a beautiful setting which is so quiet, clean, good access routes to Sierra Nevada.
