  Ohtels Cabogata – Our Honest ReviewThe hotel is only around a 10–15 minute transfer from the airport, which is a real bonus. However, it is extremely remote. If you’re looking for busy nightlife, lots of shops and plenty to do outside the hotel, this definitely isn’t the place for you. If you’re happy spending your holiday relaxing by the pool and having a quiet break, then you may really enjoy it.Arrival & ReceptionUnfortunately, our first impression wasn’t great. The reception staff came across as quite rude and unhelpful. We were asked for a voucher, and when we questioned why, we were told it was to prove what we had paid for.My partner then had to spend time searching through emails to find it. Had we been told beforehand that we needed to provide this, we would have been prepared. As my partner quite rightly pointed out, once the booking had been accepted, we felt this should have been something the hotel had already confirmed.We were also given wristbands with barcodes on them. Sometimes these were scanned and sometimes they weren’t, which was quite confusing.Room & HotelThe room itself was spacious but very dated. In fact, the whole hotel feels like it could do with some TLC and modernisation. The cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel itself was excellent. Given how remote the hotel is, we also feel an on-site shop would be a great addition, as there really isn’t much nearby.Pool & Pool BarThere were plenty of sunbeds and tables around the pool, although the tables could definitely have been cleaned more regularly.One of the positives was the pool bar, where the food was cooked to order rather than being pre-prepared. The pool bar staff were also friendly and helpful, which was a refreshing change.During our stay the Pool bar was closed with no explanation, we had to goto the bar in the main hotel, which was a slight inconvenience as we had to make sure we was dry before we entered the bar. There was no communication to explain why it was closed. When we asked the staff why the pool bar wasn’t open we was told it had closed it was end of season. FoodThere was always something available to eat. The choice wasn’t huge, but we found the food enjoyable and perfectly edible. We never went hungry. All types catered for. OverallOverall, although this is advertised as a 4-star hotel, we personally felt it was more like a 3-star.Unfortunately, around 90% of the staff we encountered came across as rude, and in our opinion some really need to remember that hospitality is about making guests feel welcome. With the exception of Josy who worked at the pool bar she was lovely so friendly and always had a smile. That said, we still had a lovely week and made the most of our holiday. However, based on our experience we would return for a mini break.   A lovely week

  We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were all friendly, helpful and polite. The pool was very good for me , as it has a gradual entry area as well as the metal ladders, so much easier to get into if you are less mobile. The food was very good, plenty of choice. We had a couple of slight problems in our room, such as a flickering bathroom light, but this was dealt with immediately by Maintenance. We would definitely return.   A great peaceful week and value for money.

  This was our third visit in 12 months. Love the hotel, the staff and the food. Breakfasts are the best?? Every mealtime excellent choices. We now have to shed the pounds?? Lovely rooms clean linen and towels and beds xtra comfy, all hotel areas kept clean and tidy.Quiet Hotel which we prefer. Good entertaiment team especially Happy Boy who could speak most languages and music always around the pool. No sunbed wars here!! Mostly spanish holidaymakers, which we prefer, but sometimes entertainment is difficult to understand. We look forward to our next visit. This is our Happy Place !
